She is adorable! I love torties!

I can say this much, my girl is a blue calico, although not many red spots(mostly around her ears/head). I find myself always super washing those areas thinking its sebum(as the sebum on sphynx is brownish red) before it sets in that its her natural color. Luckily, with all her fur you wont have to give her baths. So if Elly was bald, you'd see the red spots, but they (IMHO) look more like dirt splotches then a pretty red.

Oh my! She is stunning! My boy is hairless, and had a hairless litter mate and two coated litter mates. One of the coated was coloured like your lady, and the other wise white and grey.

Oh cool, similar to with mine. She sister is fuzzy and grey/white. XD

She's not actually sleeping there. Just rolling over and playing. She's soo photogenic I'm not sure if that's a Sphynx thing because I've never had one before. But like... if you get out a camera she actually sits still and poses. :-3

Welcome Callie and elly I think your girl is adorable and you can tell she is a sphinx in her features. You are lucky she likes to take pictures and pose . My one girl Anastazia is lilac she is the one on my avatar pic. We'll let me tell you that is the best picture I have of her because she does not like her picture taken! She will close her eyes and make this awful face that I am not even kidding makes her look anything but pretty.

So you snap away and we will definitely enjoy your girl Elly with you. No baths for Elly your quite lucky!

Tortie power!!! She’s adorable. Outcrosses are still registered as sphynx. An F4 (pure sphynx) will have a registration number starting with SBT if registered with TICA. It can be harder to tell with a CFA pedigree. But if the parents are registered with TICA you can look on their pedigrees and be able to tell exactly how far back the outcross is. These would be the first 2 digits of the registration number:

• AO - the cat is the product of two different breeds
• BO - the cat has at least one grandparent of a different breed
• CO - the cat has at least one great grandparent of a different breed

Outcrosses get more hairless with every generation. In Canadian Sphynx the hairless gene is recessive so:

• Sphynx x Furry = F1 - all furry carrying the hairless gene
• Sphynx x F1 = F2 − 50% hairless, 50% furry
• Sphynx x F2 = F3 - All kittens should be hairless
• Sphynx x F3 = F4 - considered pure sphynx

There’s definitely variance to the level of hairlessness just depending on the cat. I kept my Lucy from a litter of 2 pure sphynx and she’s got fuzz on her head, feet, and tail. My partner kept a kitten from the same father and a F3 COP female and that entire litter was sticky bald.

I don’t have any personal experience with Donskoy or Peterbald but they both have a dominant hairless gene. From what I understand, they can have fur that falls out anywhere from 2 months to 2 years of age.

Bottom line, they’re all awesome whether they be sticky, fuzzy, or furry! It is interesting to know why they look they way they do though.

Welcome to the lair! My sphynx baby's cat mom grows hair in the winter but during summer it all falls out and I know hairlessness isn't garanteed so your kitty is just as much a sphynx as any other hairless sphynx. Enjoy her!

Aw she's so cute I love her little nose! Sphynx are amazing little creatures because of personality, not necessarily because of hairlessness. I was looking for a hairy sphynx when I first began my search. My girl Starla is pretty naked, she's gotten a little tiny bit of fuzz for the winter on some of her body but that's it. My boy Bentley has a fuzz all over him a little fuzzier than a peach & he grew hair on his tail for winter & some little booties on his feet. I love them so much but it has nothing to do with their nakedness. I just love their silly funny personalities. I'm glad you're here, you'll find a ton of animal lovers & a lot of people here have naked sphynx & hairy domestic cats too.

That is a lot to take in. XD I can't remember if I said before but Elly is definitely considered pure Sphynx, I've met both parents and according to the breeder I got her from dad is pedigree Sphynx and mother full Sphynx. :-3 However if you were just sharing the information generally then it's interesting to know.

Do you or someone else happen to have experience with a don+can mix? I know it is not allowed, but since the kittens and the combos do exist, I was wondering would their litters still count as outcross, like this combinations you wrote here? Mine would be from this byb's 5th litter. Yet his level of hair is exactly the same as it is in others. The only difference there is, is the fact that they were different as kittens, some had wiry coat, some had fluffy coat, some had more hair, some had less hair...but as grown ups, they look almost the same. I just hope no one was breeding from them
