my Heartcat Hansel the cornie.....

today I come home from work and got of course greeted by all the cats and all of a sudden my Husband says, whats that on Hansels side ???????? I started looking and he has a golfsize ball on his neck !!! Its really hard and I can move it only a bit side to side but not much. He is purring ....
I cried already so much and of course its a saturday night !! Seriously !
I am already thinking the worst, because last year same time he had surgery on his leg and he had that cancer!
I love my Hansel !! I am afraid if i bring him to the Vet on Monday that he has cancer again and now its on his lymph ??? I am devastated !

I know he did not have that yesterday !!!!!

Oh no! Can you get him to the vet tonight? I definitely think it needs checking out. I hope it is nothing serious, maybe just an infected lymph node or something. Please keep up posted and Hugs to you and Hansel

@assibassi Big sigh. I know why you are so stressed and you would probably say you are not stressed, you are FREAKING especially after what your went through last year. Give your vet a call. Obviously you will want to get your baby in for a visit, but if you speak to your vet, they might give you a better idea if it is a must see now visit, or a wait until Monday visit. Ask if they want you to email the picture. Just a stretch, but it there a red dot in the middle a possible bite?

we did message the Vet with a picture and she replied. She said it could be an abscess since it appeard so quickly. And of course to bring him in right away Monday.
She also mentioned that if it breaks , it would be a good thing . Not to worry just yet.
I swear it wasnt there this morning or last night.
He does have furr so we are not seeing any red spot or bite or anything.

I had a big sigh earlier now you need to take a deep breath. You have followed up on everything you need to and vet is saying visit can wait until Monday. You are a great Sphynx Mommy. Loki had that abscess on his anal glands last week and yes it was big fast...the stuff that came out of that was just "not right."

I know the area of the issue scares you the most. Like I always say they know nothing different than the present so no matter what it is...make their days normal...full of attention, love and happiness. It will make you happy knowing they are just living in the moment.

He is sleeping right now on the heatingpad. Purring away each time I go cuddle him.
I stressed out so much I broke out in hives all over my face!! Husband gave me some Benadryl already, I been crying. I know i shouldnt stress but i love him so much!! Art and I talked about possibilities and we told each other to calm down till Monday . Its hard though.

I really thank everyone here for their thoughts and prayers for him. I love this community.

You cannot help but stress. We would all be doing the same thing. Just stay as focused as you can on changes and things to report to vet. So they can get a good feel for things on Monday. You have "us Larians" in the meantime....like it or not...lol. As long as Hansel seems happy and content, then you should rest easier.

I know i should relax. When He had that cancer on his leg, he tried biting it off all the time. With this big bump, he dont even mind or seems to know .

I know it is so hard to relax until Monday, but like Patti said, you have done all you can until then, and just monitor him and document what you can for the vet. I know I would be freaking out right now and it is easier said than done to be calm. Do what you do best and continue being a great Sphynx momma. Hi Assi. I know how scary this is, so I won't say relax. However, when I read how the lump appeared and how large it is, I immediately thought that it is an abscess. You may not find a puncture or a wound, because abscesses can appear after the skin has healed. It looks fine but bacteria may have been incubating in the wound under the skin. We have had this happen several times with our furry cats. It's always really scary--I have panicked every time!

Hopefully that is what this is--good luck to you--prayers are happening for your baby.

I too will keep my fingers crossed with everyone else that it is somethjng simple for Hansel. I would also tend to agree that since you KNEW it was not there the day before that cancer is a less likely suspect. It would be something more inflammatory such as an infection, abscess that needs draining, a salivary or scent gland that is blocked or swollen, etc. I know it is difficult but try and stay calm for Hansel. He will do better if you stay calm too.

thank YOu all. He still has that same bump, it didnt get smaller or larger. He acts normal. My Husband is dropping him off in the morning to the Vet right away and unfortunatly I have to go to work but my husband will keep me filled in. I am a little calmer today and that is thanks to You all .
I will let you all know what the outcome is for sure.
Hoping for something blocked of course or abscess .
