Hello! so Baldwin maybe a week ago started getting these flesh colored bumps that eventually pop and ozze then scab over. We switched maybe 6weeks ago from a poultry based diet to all fish grain free other then that nothing has changed . In the last few days I have been washing him with 3% salicylic acid Selsum Blue (recommended by breeder) and that seems to help dry these things out. Has anyone seen these???his appt is today

I've been researching it online and I can't find very much. My thoughts were vitamin D deficiency, mercury poisoning or thiamine deficiency.

I am of no help but I hope you figure it out and he heals quickly! A visit to the vet is probably best

Just seeing the pics and not your comments about food change I was thinking an allergic reaction to food.

Oh my, your baby has bad allergies to something.
You need to have the Vet draw blood send it off and have
it checked for everything.
If your Vet doesn't know much about Sphynx, go to a
University near you. They are the greatest and will fully
examine and take care of your baby. But, tell them you
want the allergy testing done. Here's my girls story.
Izmae's allergies journey
Also don't bathe him anymore, until, you see the Vet.
Wipe down with warm wash cloth. Cotton ball's with coconut oil
for butt. You should never use human shampoo on animals.
Pet Hypoallergenic shampoo is best.
The best shampoo is HyLyt Shampoo.
Google for best price.

I agree with @Catzzzmeow, it appears to be a food allergy. Many members have had luck with this food with allergy issues - L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Duck Dry Cat Formula | Natural Balance Pet Foods :)

He did good, she thinks it's a fungal infection, so he got and antibiotic shot and a mousse to dry out the sores... she said if this doesn't work we will have to do a biopsy? I dunno...:(

My little boy has had a rash since we relocated to Spain from the uk.
We are looking at possible allergy testing, environmental and food tests. Please keep us updated as to how you are getting on. Tootsie has also had an antibiotics jab. Vet here also suggested fungal infection. Said it's a normal thing on the skin but goes out of control.
She did say a name but unfortunately although her English is excellent she didn't know what it was called in English. Good luck and hope it gets sorted very soon. Xxx

Sending healing vibes for your little Baldwin and calming vibes for you. What a trooper he is. If it's fungal, that can be treated. If it's an allergy, it may take a little while to suss out exactly the cause. Chicken is the most common culprit. But even duck can be an allergen to some Sphynx. Fish should only be given sparingly to cats..

When troubleshooting anything, change only one thing at a time. Sending hugs.

It doesn't seem to be getting better . I think it may be his food...I really can't afford the biopsy. He's not having any chicken however I just checked his treats and they have chicken liver in them ! Shit. I just bought him more or six fish and I give him the basics wet food...,,, no idea what I should do

Did the vet rule out uticaria pigmentosa?
Search Results for Query: Uticaria | Sphynxlair
I have no idea what his bumps are :(
But wamted to pass on with sohynx I have seen many ask the vet to rule out Uticaria.

Also just brainstorming . I know. You mentioned your vet didn't think food allergies but I wamted to share when I saw Orijen 6 fish (top notch brand I know )
. I fed Sam dog Acana Pacifica fish (sister company of Orijen) amd he got horrid skin rashes .
I recently tried Acana Mackeral with Sam and boom ... Horrid skin issues ..
Sticking with duck for my crew with positive results for kitties amd dogs ..

Several members have switched to natural balance pea n duck with good results ..

I feed my Senstive Bengal kitty Fromm Game bird recipe with good results .
My vet didn't think food allergies at first but fish see,s to be s trigger .
My vet told me not to allergy test because it would give a lot of false positives .

So many darn things can trigger skin issues:(
Many of us keep on hand vetericyn spray or hydrogel you can ask your vet if it would okay to apply .
I like it is nom toxic

My girl came with a tube of entederm from a vet thst works well for skin too you could ask your vet sbout .

Sending positive vibes you get a diagnosis and relief.

Will be looking for positve updates!

I posted in the other tread again.
Get the blood drawn and have the allergy testing done.
You'll waste more money trying to figure out what is
wrong than going ahead and doing it. If your Vet isn't
good with Sphynx, go to your nearest University.
They are the best. Have all the specialist in all fields there.

@Catstuff , let us know your feedback on the venison n pea. It is probably a novel protein for kitty (meaning no previous exposure to that particular protein )
also there are cool amd warm foods charts some find helpful in selecting foods .
I know several have tried the pea and duck .. Hopeful to see other members chime in on the venison formula .

Interesting when I asked my vet about allergy testing she told me to save my money because she has seen a lot of false positives . She said she would do the test if I insisted . She told me To try a novel protein food first and then move on to next step if necessary
.
What is important is to have a good relationship and communication with your vet . Same page same book.
We cannot diagnosis here but do share our sphynx experiences you can share with your vet.
The university option mentioned is a great idea too to explore
Sending positive healing vibes!

Will look for updates!

Also think of any changes in the environment - dryer sheets, fabric softener , carpet powders , fragrance litter etc

Ps -I really like the Hylt soap free hypoallergenic shampoo (about $10 online -
my vets office sells Hylyt yours may also )

@Catstuff , checking in on you and Baldwin
All paws crossed for positve updates
Thanks so much. I think the antibiotics took a week to kick in. It's looking better. I'm still going to switch his food to venison and pea tomorrow and see how that works for him. I've heard in other threads the bumps coming back after the antibiotics so I think it's smart to still see if the food helps. Thanks @Yoda mom
