He's eaten a bit of dinner and his temp is down to 102.3 right now, but he's still inactive and gagging. I've also noticed he'll mouth breathe at times, though his breathing rate isn't elevated. It's frustrating to watch him and not know what to do for him.

I haven't taken his temperature yet, but he's up and a bit more active. He did eat some of his breakfast and he fought me giving him his meds. He is still gagging, though and we think he sounds congested. No poo in the litter box yet. Even if there's nothing telltale in it, I'd like to see some poo.

Awe, I hope Gizzy starts to feel better or starts to give you some indication of what is actually wrong so you can help treat him soon, sometimes it can be so frustrating when they can't tell us what is bothering them. Hoping things turn around soon.

funny how we start to obsess over poo! But as i like to say no food going in no poo coming out! I wouldnt stress too much cause if he didnt eat for a couple of days its going to take a couple of days for poo to come out! but im sure it will be massive for ya once it does!

Sorry for the delay in updating. I ended up having to have a minor, though emergency, surgical procedure and didn't get on-line yesterday evening. I'm doing okay, though.
I left an update for the vet yesterday morning and he called me back concerned about the open mouth breathing even though there wasn't an increase in respiration, so he asked to see him again. Hubby took him in as he was off of work. Report was: no temperature, belly felt fine with no protests from Giz during check, what he could check of the mouth and throat on a conscious cat looked good though some excess saliva, eyes were bright and clear, and no signs of lung congestion. So we were directed to keep doing what we're doing and bring him back if he gets worse again.
As of this morning, he is up and running around pretty much like normal. His gagging seems less frequent, though he's still doing it some. He is eating, though. Still no poop. Just a moment ago when I pet him as he ran by he felt a bit warm, but I'm not sure if that's fever again or just from him having been running around in the unairconditioned hallway.
