Gizzy continues to gag. He did finally poop, but just a little and it was diarrhea. Fortunately it doesn't seem like his fever has returned again. However, though he hasn't really gotten worse, he hasn't gotten better past a point. Tomorrow he goes in for a chest x-ray and to scope down his throat to see if we can get any further in this mystery.

(I am okay from my procedure, though I'm waiting for my test results too.)
Just heard from the vet. The x-rays don't show anything he can see, but he's sending them to a radiologist just to be sure. The scoping however did show something. His throat and up to his nasal passages is raw "like someone took sandpaper to it" and there is a lot of mucus. Poor guy! I'll have more info and find out treatment when I go to pick him up, but at least this sounds treatable. WHEW!
As for me: one of my tests was positive, but why and how to handle it depends on the results of the remaining three which we're still waiting for. So, just because this one is positive doesn't mean it can't be something simple to fix like Giz. I should hopefully have those results tomorrow.
Thanks for all of your support!
Giz is home and napping now. Though they had only used light sedation, he was unsteady and frantic for a while. The vet showed me a picture of his throat and it looked very red and irritated. We're not positive of the cause, but think maybe a URI turned into this, or he could've snorted up something that caused irritation. His antibiotic was changed and he's been given a pain med to take for a few days. I'm also supposed to give him a saline nasal wash. Now that we know the problem and he's getting the right stuff, he should hopefully feel better soon.![]()
