So as if Molly puking and pooping everywhere yesterday wasn't enough...

My brother is out of town and their house sitter took his lab for a run. The dog collapsed and we rushed her home, thinking it was heat exhaustion. Showered her down, got water in her, she was shaking and stiff and couldn't make the stairs or lay down.

Called my vet and spoke with him. Decided to keep her home and monitor her for the night. She drank bowls of water and puked everywhere, had diarrhea too. Was up all night. Dropped her off at the vets this morning and got home.... Leo just projectile puked all over my kitchen.

I am so bleary eyed and exhausted. Thinking about buying a nurses cap to wear.

Please send some lair prayers over for us - its turning into a rollercoaster here!!!

Update:

Molly ate a bit today. Leo has eaten nothing. The dog was diagnosed with extreme heat exhaustion and sent home after observation today with anti-inflamatory pills. She needs to be watched closely for 48 hours.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and support... now I just need my little baby Leo to start feeling better!

Leo woke me up at 6 by puking on our bed. I didn't take him in yesterday, because he only threw up twice and was still drinking water. Looks like someone else is going to get an anti nausea shot and metronidazole! Will take him when the clinic opens. Thank goodness I have a flexible job!!

The dog is getting better - the vet said she has some early arthritis which contributed to her stiffness and pain.

I took Leo in to get his shot - we have the best vet ever. They squeezed him in even though they were jam packed. He had it administered by a tech, and the vet said that he can use some of Mollys metronidazole since he gave her extra. The whole thing cost $15 and we were in and out within 2 hours of calling this morning.

Now just to get the kitties back to eating and we should be back on track!

Sending healing thoughts and prayers. So glad you were able to squeeze Leo in. I know how hard emotionally it is with your babies being sick. Hugs!

Leo still isn't eating. He hasn't ate on his own since Wed night at 10pm. I am syringe feeding him wet food mixed with warm water just to get something in his belly. Worried about hipatic lipidosis (fatty liver) developing in him. He is drinking a bit on his own.

I feel so bad that I waited until today to take him in... this is so stressful!

Poor Leo....you may want to ask your vet about giving him some Science Diet A/D. It is a critical care food that is supposed to be very attractive to sick ones. We watered it down with warm water for Sobe when she stopped eating and developed pancreatitis.

Our thoughts are with you and your kiddos. We wish them all a speedy recovery

It's 12:30 am here and he still isn't eating on his own. And she is being super picky and not back to normal yet. So I am boiling up some turkey necks that I had in the freezer - hoping I can entice one if them with the meat. Or at the very least I can syringe him some of the broth with his wet food. Praying for a Hail Mary here!!

You can also try baby food. Must be just meat and water...no garlic or onion in it. Usually the beef is the most basic. If they won't eat it on their own, you can syringe it. When did the vet say to go back if no change? Prayers are sent for a turn around.
