Evening all.
First of all, apologies I've been MIA. I've had 2 weeks off work visiting family and friends so I've not been on much.

Thought I'd write a quick update about Pierre since you all gave such great advice and support when I adopted him.
I think the last time I wrote about him I'd moved him onto Science Plan Sensitive Stomach dry food and wet due to what looked like an allergy that I thought may be food and also due to having constant diorreaha. Well that worked, all his spots healed and we've had no new ones show and he's no longer got diorreaha yay!

Litter training, even tho he was already apparently "litter trained" has gone well with the addition of a second litter tray. He likes to keep his business separate :)

I purchased a very large dog pen which has a litter tray, bed, blankets, and some toys in there. We use this for night times due to him having the two accidents on the bed whilst we slept and since he still sniffs there I wanted to be safe, however, we have occasionally left it open at night now as he seems to be going straight to his litter trays now. We also use this when we are going out. I felt so bad at first but he actually goes in there of his own accord and curls up so he's not unhappy at all which makes me feel a lot better.

The vets have started his injections due to not knowing if he had them and we also had him microchipped to be safe even tho he is an indoor cat.

He's definitely come out of his shell. Not as many cuddles now as he just loves to run around and play. He also likes stalking me, then runs at me and turns around at the last minute.

Thanks @Catzzzmeow couldn't have done it without you guys tho! I'm very happy with the vets I chose too. They literally told me everything I was warned about on here regarding which vaccinations to avoid and that they only inject in his back leg etc so that was a pleasant surprise not having to argue with them :)

Oh also, we had him weighed on his first vet visit which was about 10 days after we fostered him. He was 3 pounds. I'll have him weighed again in 2 weeks at his next vaccination but I'm sure he's put on weight as we can no longer see his ribs sticking out.

@Pierre Thanks for giving the members of this community kudos. Many of us are active members who remember what it was like to be a newbie. I know I personally take pride in being an ambassador of the breed and I am sure you will too. Awesome that you like your vet. I find that going to the vet is much easier when I feel some what educated in the breed and issues. But I always try to keep in mind they are the doctor not me lol. You will have to keep up with the pics for all of us!

@Pierre great to hear that things are going much better and you like your vet. It's nice when they are on the same page as you. LOL

Pour Nature's Miracle on your mattress since he's still sniffing those spots. He will always smell them until you use a good enzyme.

Great pics thanks for sharing.

Woohoo @Pierre so happy to hear Pierre is doing so great. You're a wonderful dad for Pierre! I'm glad to hear he uses the litterboxes now.
And oh what a cutie he is. Love the yawn pic:).

This is a great update! I'm so happy things are going so well for you and your baby.

As you've acknowledged, this is a great community and so supportive. Questions are always welcomed and people here are always happy to offer advice and point you in the right direction. I moderate on a site for blue tongue skinks and while I love it there, the community spirit here is one hundred fold in comparison.

I am also lucky to have a fantastic vet, but having this community here further supports my care of little Rosie as all the sphynx mums and dads give tips and pointers learned from their own experiences. I'm glad you found the site!

Now that's the kind of update we like! :)
And I can only add to the kudos for the members here. I was new a year ago, and having frequented other forums (for horses though) the spirit here is 100% better than any other forum I've been on.
No drama, no bitchyness, no constant negativity - just love for the breed and the cats themselves (and their families!)
It makes such a difference. No one is afraid to ask for help, ask "stupid" questions, or give advice. There's no "use the search button" or "google is your friend" smartass comments.
Totally love it. :) It's what makes me come back day after day.

Anyway, enough gushing lol.

I chuckled hearing Pierre uses two trays. Pixie educated me to this way of taking care of business too.
I had put the "travel tray" (it's just smaller than the regular one) down beside the normal one, as I didn't want to tip it into the freshly made one.
Picture my face when she did her big business in the big one, and used the small one to pee.
So she kept both, but I really only have to change litter in one.

@Silke haha it's crazy isn't it? Yeah we have a big litter tray and the same again but medium size. The medium one goes in his cat pen (cage sounds too harsh lol) but when he's not in there we leave the door open. We found that having one, if he does a no #2 first he wouldn't go back for a wee unless we cleaned it straight up which was an issue if we where in the shower etc but now we have the two he's been brilliant and no more accidents yay :)
i swear I learn something new everyday!

As you're in the UK, you might want to try the Tesco Wood Pellet litter.
Pixie was on that one until I moved to Germany, and it's WAY less mess than the other litters I've tried. (I've just posted a wood litter comparison btw)
It doesn't smell (except like wood) and it doesn't clump, so you only take out the "exploded" sawdust -- which you can flush down the loo. It also makes taking the poos out much easier. They don't bury as much with it, so depending where the "poo" box is, it may smell. I just take the poo out and flush it, rest of the pellets is untouched. The stuff is about £3 at Tesco. You'll need a fine scoop to sift it,and maybe a bucket to sift into. With two trays, I sift into one corner of one and toss the unused into the other litterbox, but it's quicker if you use a little bucket.
It's more work than "normal" litter, but it's much cheaper and way more economical. (I scoop poop daily, and sift two - three times a week.)
There is a "Cat's Best" clumping wood litter -- stay away from that. It's horrible and it smells.
With pellet litter you'll get the odd pellet tracked out, but nothing like the stuff that sticks to the paw or goes between toes.
I actually used to collect the sawdust (It's not dusty, but that's what it disintegrates into) in a bucket...and if you have a wood burner... ;)
Seriously, the stuff (when it's dry) burns like hell in a woodburner. We put half a 30l bucket in my colleagues bulleryan (big barrel type burner) and she was toasty warm for 6hrs! It just smoldered away in there.
I did the same thing, but I had a smaller burner, so not quite as long lasting since I used much less, but it kept a steady heat up.
But all in all, you can lift it out and flush it without clogging up the loo. (Flush in moderation, obviously) and it's environmentally friendly too, without perfume, without additives to make it clump, and not dusty.
To me that's a plus on all fronts.

Aww I love the video! Just got in from a night shift and this will have me dreaming of happy pouncing kitties, rather than stinky poop and patients alarms ringing in my ears!
He's so gorgeous! I love how they can "animate" their toys with such delight!

Just found a lump :( I think it's because of the second injection as its quite close to the site. Either way he's going straight to the vets first thing
