Oh, Monique--I just now read this. I am so sorry to hear Merlin has urinary tract issues.....thankful that you are such a good mommy and noticed right away. Praying the bladder flushing will do the trick and that Merlin comes home to your loving arms where he belongs.

No not till tomorrow at the soonest. He was SUPER happy to see us. He was purring really loud and we had to get him to calm down. We changed his shirt. The vet said he is doing well. Tonight he gets his cathater out and then has to be monitored to make sure he is peeing on his own. Hopefully tomorrow he can come home.

here he is a bit gorky from his meds and the evil cone of shame.
they said he is being a really good boy.

So happy to see him. He looks pretty darn good I know it is was traumatic for you, you are a great Mom knowing he had to go no matter how cold or how bad the roads were. I hope he has a good night's sleep.

He doesn't look to happy wearing the cone. So happy to hear he's doing better. What a great family he has,to go through a blizzard to get him to the vet. Know you can't wait to get him back home. Sending I.H. prayers and Eudo kisses to brave Merlin! I am so grateful for Emergency Clinics and the people who work there! (Why is it always on a holiday, during a blizzard!, or on a weekend night when this stuff happens??!!) I don't know if it's just me, but I get all emotional when I drive by a veterinary emergency clinic late at night... (Actually, I find even an animal hospital during the day bittersweet for that matter!)

We got the morning update!
He has peed on his own all night. If this continues he can go home tonight. We can probably pick him up after work. Normally this is my day off but we closed our shop the past two days for the bad weather and so we are working today.

Did the vet mention whyy there was a problem to begin with? Did he have a stone causing a blockage?

He had a blockage caused by a clot of blood cells. They think he was stressed out and caused his ureter to constrict which makes thw pee to not all be excreted. We have to do stress busters with him. More playing and I am going to do some new cat furniture for thw house.
He doesnt have crystals so it is not his food. But thwy want him to start eating more wet food.

We just got home with him. He is going for a follow up next Monday with our regular vet. I am beat. So tired. He looks good and just peed in thw box. So...u will update with pics later. but I can tell he is happy to be home. I will sleep better with my regular bump in my bed.
