With Emma, they said the litter eating was a sign of anemia . Point forward, I know if I see my kitties doing this to take them in right away.

Exactly. Why is it that we have to be more educated about stuff like this than the vets sometimes?

Praying he gets better soon

He's a very big beautiful boy. They told my daughter that they may want to do a bone marrow biopsy. She can't stand the thought of putting him through it. We just keep praying.

I'm praying for Sebastion and your daughter. My boy Finneas has immune mediated anemia, so I know all about the lethargy and white gums. He hasn't ever eaten litter, but when his red cell count drops he will lick the baseboard heaters and the walls. Did the vet put Sebastion on a steroid like prednisolone? That is what got Finn's count stabilized and almost two years after his count crashed, he's still on a maintenance dose of prednisolone every other day and he takes the chemo pill Leukeran twice a week too.

They did the bone marrow biopsy on Emma Leigh during her surgery. The site was not huge and it didn't seem to bother her much. Then again, she was on pain meds from her actual surgery site.
