I just checked my e-mail.. My breeder messaged me minutes ago to let me know Olympia passed away. She got her first set of vaccines on Thursday and she was fine on Friday, but unfortunately yesterday it started going downhill. My breeder e-mail me to let me know things weren't looking good this morning and it accidentally went to my junk.. her e-mail letting me know she passed away I just got.

I'm numb. I can't believe it. I didn't even have her yet and I am crying like a baby. I have no idea how to react or what to do.. I ran to Osiris and scooped him up. I can't imagine losing my kitties and I just did.

R.I.P beautiful.. you're in kitty heaven now with all of the cat nip and treats and toys that you want...

I am so sorry to hear about little Olympia. Is she going to find out if it was just a reaction to the shots or something more? I am so sad for you. Hugs.

She is positive it is a reaction to the shots.. on her vet visit before they gave the shots she was 100% healthy... Thank you very much

So sad, I am so sorry!! That is just terrible. Poor little Olympia, as you put it perfectly she is in heaven with all the things that make her happy around her, I'm so sorry for you and her and that Osiris won't get to meet his sister. I know how excited you were about her and getting everybody on board for her so I can't imagine how heart breaking it is for her just know there will be a sphynx out thereto help you heal and for now you have your sweet Osiris. I'm thinking of you and sending huge hugs!

So incredibly sorry.....rip, Olympia. Poor baby. What a nightmare--killed by the very thing that is supposed to keep her safe. She might have had something else going on that the vet didn't see. but that couldn't handle the extra load on her immune system. I know you must be devastated. Was she the only kit in the litter that got this reaction from the shots?
I hope she is up in Heaven playing with all the babies we've lost. I'd like to think my little guys would've been part of the Welcoming Committee to help her across the Rainbow Bridge where there is no more pain, no more suffering.
Eventhough her life was too short, Olympia was loved--and that is everything.
Wishing I could do something to help the pain go away,
Susi and the gang

OMG, I'm sitting here wiping away tears. I have no words, but all I could think that I'm glad it didn''t happen to you once you got her home. I'm so, so sorry that this happened.

My sincerest condolences. You are like a expectant mom u were preparing your heart and home of cours u will cry and.feel devastaed. Vaccines are tricky with sphynx my breeder advises me to only use a certain one and there are alot of things these kitties dont need. It is unfortunate take time to grieve and let your disappointment heal so sorry

I spoke with my breeder last night. She also lost one of Olympia's brothers. She told me that she had a lady who owns another cattery visit, and as much as she tries to prevent the spread of viruses by asking people to take off their shoes and wash their hands and use purel before entering the cattery, she can't stop everything 100%. So her vet says it is NOT a coincidence that she lost two kittens. With the stress of vaccines, their mother weaning them the same day and a possible virus.. That's what did it.

Osiris' mother gave birth a couple of days ago so I'm going to check out those kittens soon to see if any of them catch my eye because as much as I am hurting, I do still want another sphynx in my life. Would it be wrong to name another kitten Olympia? I need some more O name ideas.
