I received an email stating I hadn't been on in awhile. Well here's why: my sweet Lennyx passed away a few weeks ago. I can't bare to look at any Sphynx without wanting to burst into tears...

I came home from work & usually she is right at the door to greet me, this night she wasn't. I went searching for her & found her in her bed, covered in vomit. Her stomach was extremely enlarged & was ice cold. In a panic I called my mother in law who came & said she was already gone. I was so upset & traumatized. I think maybe had I been home she would still be alive. She wasn't even 1 yet & I'm not even sure how she passed. So I apologize for my absence. People may think I'm crazy for being so upset over my pet but I look at my pets as my children. I hope Lenny forgives me up in heaven. Love you baby

RIP Lennyx. You deserve the best sweet girl

Wow so sorry for your loss. that's awful. RIP Lenny.

I can't even begin to imagine how devastated you must be, just reading your story made me upset. You are definitely not crazy.

Don't blame yourself - there is nothing for Lenny to forgive you for - from what I read on here you were a great sphynx mommy and Lenny had lots of fun. I remember reading about her trip to petco. Sometimes these tragic things just seem to happen to those who don't deserve it

Are you going to try to find out what happened to her?

I am so sorry to hear of your girls passing. What a shock that must have been. It sounds to me like some kind of blockage. I hope you are starting to do better, but greive as you see fit as it is necessary to get to the healing process. We are here whenever you need us. Hugs.

Oh how terrible for you :( I feel so sad for you. Totally understand why you haven't been on here. I lost a British shorthair aged only 1 to FIP and I couldn't look at another again- that's why we got a Sphynx :) hugs to you

 you poor thing for having to see your precious Lenny like that. I am so sorry!! Don't blame yourself. It could have also been a genetic condition and never apologize for seeing her as your baby. My boys are my babies and I refuse to let anyone tell me different. I would feel their loss as if it was a child which I'm sure is how you're feeling now. You gave her a good life and she is not in any pain now. I'm thinking of you and hope in time you're healed enough to offer another baby a loving home. No matter what type of 'baby' it is. Lenny would want you to be happy. Sending the biggest hugs possible.x

I'm really sad to read about your little Lenny. I can only imagine how horrible it was for you to find her, but please do not blame yourself. You and Lenny both know that you would have done everything in your power to prevent her passing. Unfortunately, there are just some things in life that are out of our control. I pray that time will help to heal your heart. Rest in peace sweet Lenny.

I am so sorry. Aw crap I am crying. I'm not a crier but that made me so sad. And don't think we don't understand. It is truly a loss. They are family.

RIP Lennyx.
I'm terribly sorry for your loss and how it came about. You are certainly not crazy. I have three grown children and my pets ARE my babies.
Take one day at a time. You feel like crying, go ahead. It's normal and you have to go through this process.
Hugs to you.

Oh dear  I am so so sorry you had to go through that. I understand that feeling of guilt you have, as I have it too for one of my animal children that passed suddenly. It is very hard to move on from the what-ifs.. but you have to remember what a good mama you were and how much you did do for Lennyx, not what you think you didn't do. She knew love, and she would never blame you for what happened. *hugs*

Oh Gosh I am sooooo sorry. That is so hard to deal with. But there might not have been anything you could have done for your sweet baby. I know I have had animals go suddenly before and they sneak away a lot of the time or they just go when you aren't there. Somehow they must think it is easier that way. I have no idea how or why but that has just been my experience and it definitely doesn't make it any easier.
So sorry again,
RIP Lenny

Thanks for all the positive thoughts & words!!

We are not sure what happened to her to cause her death. We took our dog in the following week to make sure it was nothing contagious & the vet said she seemed fine.

A family friend of ours who has had many kitties said it could've been anything. Virus, internal, anything. She said in all her years of having cats she's come to realize its very hard to tell when they're sick. Cats hide their illnesses better than dogs do.

I feel a little better after these following weeks. I'm sure I will make a new addition in time. My house is so quiet without her little chirps & cuddles. I love the Sphynx breed. Just need a little time to heal.

Thanks everyone

I'm sure everyone, including myself, completely understands why you find it difficult to be here. I know I wouldn't have the desire to come on here for a very long time if/when I lose one of my precious boys.

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. Time helps, but your baby will always be in your heart and you will always have photos and good memories.

When you are ready, you will fill that void with a new baby. Nobody can tell you how long until then. Only you will know when it's time.
Big hugs to you.
