Interesting. I've always liked the Roman Pagan God names like Apollo or Atlas or Zeus.

I can't count how many times I've thought of a good name and just flat out forgot it. I always think it's funny when people give their pets human names like Billy Ray Cyrus or Benjamin Franklin (I know it's random). My brother has a dog simply known as "Jeff". Have you ever heard of an animal named Jeff? It makes me laugh thinking about it. When you're at the park and you here someone yell Jeff, I certainly wouldn't associate that name with a dog.

Yeah, I kinda thought this way too! And then I named my sphynx Tim/ Timmy. Oh well, it just kinda fit him. Plus, am always talking to him, about him, or yelling at him, so Tim is easy.

Re: Egyptian Sphynx names

Working in a grooming Salon we have some of the finniest names in the system. I think its funny when they name their animals people names like: Ben, Fred, Steven, and Peter.
We have some funny ones like: Captain Jack Sparrow, Roly Poly Puppy (a 12 year old Bichon), Zero.
I like the little bit different ones. My chihuahua at my mom's house is Zsa Zsa, my yorkie at my house is Kita, Naya is my new kitty. I love Daphne, Murphy, Zayne. Names are so fun =)

Everyone gets the biggest kick out of her name and her as well. My husband calls her "creepy cat"

She has several nick names like fluff-a-nutter, creepy, scabby cat (when her skin breaks out) and kitty (my son's name for her)

I like the name Cairo but I had a greyhound named Cairo so I can't use it again. I think it would be a good Sphynx name.

Thats what I named my guy. He came with the name gizmo, but it didnt fit.

Hey everyone... Great suggestions for names! I thought I finally came up with a name but now I'm leaning to several. My favorite though and at the top of the list is "Lucille Bald" I may have to steal that name! It's fitting for a red sphynx girl! I also like Zoey, Phoebe, Peaches, Petunia, Isis, Waltzing Matilda, Anastasia to name a few...

We lost our kitten recently to a mystery illness...her name was Emuishere which is Egyptian for kitten. Soon we will be getting a half sister to her and her name will be Eloise.

I named my first boy George, after Curious George, and Zeus and Samson came with their names. I like the name Dobby for another boy, and Maggie or Agatha for a girl.

Me and my wife went through the Egyptian names, then searched through the many different Greek god/goddess names, we then went Mayan and took the name Mya, its greek origin means either Mother or Great One,

Now for our other cat He is a Persian Munchkin, we living in the Indianapolis Area chose to name him Peyton Meowning, after none other then QB Peyton Manning, after picking him up we were talking through names and i said it kinda jokingly and his ears perked up, my wife surprisingly liked it so it stuck.

I am brainstorming through names for my new boy. He is 3 years old, but was a rescue and came with no name

If I got a second cat I always wanted to name him Berlin. Because I currently have a cat named Brinely... however that might e confusing.

When I heard I was getting a sphynx I was going over names in my head and the name Liopleurodon (Leo-plur-a-don) lol but Leo for short. He is the magical advice giving mythical creature from charlie the unicorn. I will post a link below!



I thought it was a cute name because Sphynx cat's are so magical and mythical looking. However once I saw the guy I don't know if it fits him...

I am also looking for manly, regal type names. I have been thumbing through just about every culture who had god and goddess type names. I have came up with, Olaf, Horus (I actually have two eye of Horus tattoos on the back of my elbows in UVB ink), Prudence and eh a few others that have left my mind at the moment... lol most I can't even pronounce though.

I have looked through every name here and only found names I was already thinking of or names that looked pretty, but I can't prounounce lol! Oh, or gorgeous female cat names... I would have him named already if he was female. So I guess I will keep looking.

Our baby is names Nude Gingrich



We have a 9 month old male and his name is Nude Gingrich. We are thinking about getting another baby in a few months and are trying to come up with another name. Any suggestions?

Ill be getting my naked one in a few months and have been keeping a list in my phone of names. So far we have Fur Ball, Yo Yo, Guinness, Powder, Marble, Neo, Nova, Indigo, Beethoven, Button and Rentoo. I'm not sure what we'll pick but we have a while to decide.

It doesn't bother me what other people name their pets. What works for them may not work for me its all about preference really but I try to stay away from people names and food names when naming my pets. Maybe ill go with Baldiva

Hi I used to have a cat named HoHo the Sunshine Boy the cat was a girl!! My daugther named her when she was 4 yrs old . Lets just say the vet was shocked when he told us the cat was a girl not a boy and i said i know it's a girl !!!
