When it rains, it pours... my aching wallet!
Yesterday I had to take 5e to the vet. While infusing coffee to rouse myself from zombie-hood, I noticed a couple of bloody paws prints. I promptly filled the food dish so as to summon the kitties for a health check.
Turns out 5e had gotten a bit of wire stuck in his paw== easy fix despite his protests. Unfortunately, all but one of his paws was swollen and infected 'ulcerated' was the term the vet used
The vet was rather concerned and said we needed to do 'punch biopsies' as his paws. Apparently, the symptoms are indicative of several auto-immune disorders, and we need to know which one as they have different treatments.
He's recovered well from the sedation, I took off the bandages the morning, and he's loving life with the pain meds
I just get to fret and spend time with Dr.Google, scaring myself.
as for the aching wallet... my car got totaled (other driver had no insurance) in early Dec. (fixing the project car in a rush is costing over $2k) I just got Laser Eye surgery($5k) and now this... $600 just to find out what's wrong, not even treat... granted, I'm happy 5e is the cheapest of the recent expenses, but it still makes the budget unhappy.
At least my vision has cleared up from the lasers, I'll keep posting in this thread as I know more.
