I've been away from SL for awhile, so it saddens me to read about Bronxe, Gummi, and Coco...all these sweet kitties who are so ill. I'm so sorry to hear of Bronxe being so sick. I can't imagine having to make the decision on when to put him down. My Siamese cat Sydney just passed away from HCM in July. During the past few months, I could see her declining and I knew her time on this planet was limited, but I just couldn't bring myself to put her down. Well, just two days before my birthday in July I came home from work and she was dead, so I guess destiny made that decision for me. At least I have a little comfort knowing that she went quickly and without pain and in the comfort of my home, surrounded by my other cats. Getting back to Bronxe, just know that you've done all you could for him and he knows you love him. I will keep Bronxe in my prayers tonight along with Gummi and Coco. :Sweet-angel:

I feel the same way about Coco and cry all the time.
Today when I took Coco to the vet to board there was a door open in the back room and I saw to much.
I asked what died because I saw them put him in a bag.
Even though Coco is 18.5 it is very hard.
So sorry about Bronxe and Gummi it is so unfair.
Tonight I was talking to Trish about Neala.
I gave her the gift we got her with donations and it was sad.
I am so scared the vet will call and say she died when I am here at the show.

Sending you both loving support. Krleese, it is perfectly normal to be unsure about knowing when it will be the right time to let Bronxe go. But you need not worry. Your heart is so big and in tune with his needs, that you will know it when the time comes.

I actually had to take our bully to the vet today. i noticed her ears were super red and she was itching her feet a lot.. so we went in.. anyway, the vet who say her (there's like 10 - seriously- at our office, big hospital) is the one who is treating Bronx-e's cancer...

i was asking her about him and was saying how well he's been doing and that the nausea medicine is working... she was happy to hear but still made a comment about it not being long for us to have to put him down :(

i keep trying to be strong.. hiding the tears for when it's just me and him up late at night together alone...

We stopped by John's grandma's house last night. She asked how Bronxe was doing and OF COURSE i broke down... i just CANT talk about him in person. online, text messages... i can do that. but to verbally talk about him i choke up EVERY TIME.. phone, in person.. i cant do it! SUCKS!!!!

I am so sad for all of you with sick babies. I have been there a few times. I've had cats that were diagnosed with a certain thing and you knew there would be a day soon that the decision would have to be made, and I've had two that were not truly diagnosed with something so you have no idea of how much time you have.

One was a DSH kitten I only had for a few months. She was the sweetest cat - she would lay in my arms like a baby and reach up and touch my face as she purred. At about six months she started showing symptoms and they suspected a shunt. Diagnosis would be abuut 3-4000 dollars and a poor prognosis, so I gave her the only gift I could :(

Another cat, Isobel, who was the last sphynx I got, making her the youngest I have right now, has never been diagnosed with a certain thing (possibly HCM, liver shunt, unknown infection... ) As long as I keep her on Antibiotics she seems to do okay. This has gone on over the last 3-4 years. At the beginning I did so much crying and greiving for her while "waiting" for the sign that she was ready. She doesn't play or do much of anything but she shows affection and has her little routines, I know her well enough to know shes not suffering.

My heart truly breaks when I read your posts, all of you with sick kittys. I feel your pain and sorrow and I cry with you. But don't let it overshadow the good times and love you had and is still to come however long you have.
