Well DANG ....

So as EVERYONE knows I was suppose to take off today on my mini adventure to pick up little Toothless.

I was on my way last night to my mothers house, she is going to be taking care of Elfie while I'm gone and so I wanted to go over her feeding schedule and all the what nots .. Just being an over protective mom!

I turn onto my parents street (the street I grew up on) and there is a side street that cuts across it, but there is a stop sign on the side street to ease traffic ...
Well doesn't this girl decide that stop signs are not for her!

I'm ok, a few small bumps and bruises and a sore back (more from the stress than anything I think).
My car on the other hand ... not so good, not a write off but needs a bunch of front end work (I just bought this car less than a month ago!)

On top of running the stop sign she jumps out of her car and starts yelling at me for hitting her!
When her parents show up, her mom starts yelling me too!

I couldn't believe it! She ran the sign but it was my fault .. I think not!!

And neither did the very handsome police officer! She was charged with running the sign and reckless driving; I got his number (in case I needed any more information of course )

So now instead of packing and head out right away to get my baby, I'm fighting with my insurance company for a rental car and having to go down to the police station to finish the accident report.

All I can say is thank god no one was hurt and please god let me get my insurance squared away quickly!

Ughhh. What a pain. I am happy to hear you were not seriously injured and the the police officer could tell from the accident it was not your fault. Just keep thinking about the sweet baby waiting for you...best type of medicine for stress relief. Hope you are on the road soon!

Wow !! I am glad your ok . Hope you get on the Road soon for Toothless that will make your Heart jump in happiness.
Isnt it funny how now a days people who are at fault are very quick to point the finger at others ?? I really cant stand that.

Ohhh I hope you get through all the red tape quickly. Thank goodness there was no real dispute by the police as to who was at fault. You have my sympathies - not to be a negative nancy, but you will probably start to get super stiff and sore over the next day or so. I was rear ended once, and knew right away that my neck hurt. The next day, every muscle in my body hurt from the accident.

Hope you can get your baby soon! Cuddles are the best medicine.

Oh no what a nightmare!! :facepalm: How awful for you. I really hope you get things sorted out and can go pick up your baby, and that you are not too shaken up.

If not...call the handsome police officer and tell him to be a real prince and to bring you to your little prince!

Oh goodness. So sorry to hear this. Thankfully little toothless was not in the car with you! I am glad you are ok. Hopefully you can get everything settled and on the way to get your new baby soon!

I am glad you are okay. Good luck. I hope those all pans out. I turned my car in and got a spanking new one this last fall and am very protective of it too so I feel for you.

I'm doing alright, just like @MollysMom said, my everything is stiff and sore.
My rental has heated seats and my hotel has a hot tub so .. I've managed to work it out a little bit.

So far the insurance is being helpful, I had my car towed to the body shop and my rental delivered to me. I was on the road a scant 2 hrs behind my planned schedule.

Again thank you everyone for all of your thoughts and concerns.
I really do love this place, it's such a warm welcoming and caring little community we have going on here!!! :happy:

That's awful. A couple years ago, I stopped quickly to avoid running a red light, but the car behind me had no qualms about running it. He did a number on my bumper, his transmission was leaking, but we were both okay. I still cringe if someone follows too close behind me, especially around stop lights.

I have to say I've been a bit edgy when I see someone roll up to stop sign; worried about weather they are going to stop or not!
I'm glad that you weren't hurt either!
