I wanted to thank all of my Lair family for all the kind words and support over the last 11 months with Violet and her weight loss. As most of you know I rehomed her on March 4th 2013 from a family in Ohio who had her sense she was a kitten (she is now 11 yrs old). When she arrived she was very grouchy & fluffy weighing in at a solid 14lbs. Now 11 months later she is at 8.11lbs and has more energy and personality than ever. It was a struggle in finding the right food but we finally did it. We tried raw and all kinds of high end pet foods. I was not only dealing with a weight issue but a skin issue as well that she had all her life to. I finally stumbled upon a food called Simply Nourish salmon and sweet potato. It has done the trick, her skin is rash free and she is down a little less than 6lbs. She has a new lease on life, she loves to run and jump and you can see the change in her attitude. She is truly a inspiration and I hope that if anyone out there is struggling with there sphynx needing to loos some weight this helps them know it's possible. Now if it were just this easy for us humans to loos the weight. LOL

Thank you all again!!!

PS I was shocked when I saw these two pictures next to each other!

She looks great, I can only imagine how much better she feels. 6lbs on are son makes a difference let alone 6lbs on a small cat! You've done a great job with her and I'm sure she is glad she got a 2nd lease on life! She probably feels like a new cat now! Imagine how much she'll enjoy the pool now with her new bikini body!

Exactly Jen, Now if I could just get her a tummy tuck to get rid of all the extra skin it would be awesome! I thought about he pool as I was writing this thread but didn't know if anyone would remember he loving it last year.

Holy sh*t!!!!!! Awesome awesome job!!! Hats off to you for helping her. That's amazing :) just wow....

@GizmosMommy I thought exactly the same thing when I put the two pics next to each other today at work. It had been about 8 months sense I saw that picture and I knew she had lost weight but didn't realize the physical change till it was there in front of me in the photos.

OMG, Nicole, I can't get over the comparison. You are SO WONDERFUL to take her in and help her so much. Violet, you look wonderful, Pumpkin Pie. :)
By the way, is this food human grade? If so, I'll get some for me as I recently put on a few pounds that I no longer want!

Wow!

I haven't followed your story, so this is new to me. But you are an exception cat guardian. I am literally agape at those photos and at the hard work you have done.

Congratulations, and thank you for your incredibly dedicated work!

Thank you! It was a challenge but all so worth it. My two younger Sphynx Curly and Hairry trimmed up some to so it was a win win for all.

OMG Robin is right. Patti mentioned I should post a thread on how much Violet had lost and I hadn't looked at the before picture in about 8 months. I was in shock! She dose not even look like the same cat. I guess getting her off the "crack" aka Fancy Feast 2 can a day diet she was on makes a world of difference. So now the "crack" is a special occasion thing and ya know she will eat about 1/4 of a can and she walks away. It's kind of like she knows it's not the best thing for her.

PS don't think I haven't told Joey we both needed to go on a salmon & sweet potato diet to loss weight. He looked at me like I was crazy!!

A truly amazing story with two photos to show that it IS possible to have your pet on a successful diet!
