He's 12 weeks old and we've only had him for 3 days! At first I figured it was because he was having wet poops. I've started adding pure pumpkin to try and harden his poops and it is happening less ever since we did that but still at least twice yesterday. He has a very large litter box. And we are using a clay based Litter. Somebody said not to use clay litter but we had bought it before we got him. I'm not sure why they said no clay litter dot-dot-dot I might switch to something else when this litter is gone depending on how expensive other litters are.How old is your baby? My boy is 7 months old and has had "poop foot" twice. We have his litter box set so that he can walk fully around it - it's not up against a wall. We use pine pellet litter as well. Sometimes he will sit halfway in the box and that makes it easier for him to navigate his poo when he covers it. Additionally, we don't have a cover for the box. What have you tried? My guess is that our babies do grow out of it.

I have been laughing out loud about this reply all day long. Thank you ahahahaI hate to say this, but Marcus is 5 years old, and he still occasionally steps in poop. He also still gets litter on his nose. And, for the first time (and it better be the last time), he got on my shoulder about a month ago, and proceeded to scrape his butt down the front of my shirt, leaving a trail of smelly poop on my shirt. He really is a dirty dude, and I can’t give you any help about your problem. Sorry!
But your little dude is a cutie!
Oh no! He hasn't stopped stepping in poop??And I thought it was unique to call my baby Sméagol
Meet my Sméagol- he is 5 months old and he also likes to step in poop
