Well, I have to admit it. I am worried. I try not to be but I am. Oliver is just over 7 months and after his rocky start things seemed to be going well the last little while. Once Oliver did his two rounds of antibiotics, (for giardia and cryptosporidium ) got neutered (and survived) and we finally went to a raw diet, after weeks of tummy upset, he had finally seemed healthy and happy. Now with his runny, weepy eyes for almost two weeks I fear that it is an early sign of FIP. He does test positive for Coronavirus, which can mutate to FIP usually within the first year or so the literature says. I have no experience with this. My furry cats that we had 19 years ago never had anything beyond a hairball. I know I shouldn't assume the worst but it is always in the back of my mind, this virus laying in waiting,,,,it is the uncertainty of it all. I am calling the vet tomorrow to see his eyes, which sometimes look okay and sometimes watery, weepy and a little irritated from being wiped. They are definitely not quite right and I hope it is just something minor but everything you read just seems so ominous ( totally should not google so much!). Trying to think positive thoughts....
I'm also worried about explaining to the vet why we decided to feed a raw diet. I know she is against it, or at least not educated about it or super knowledgeable about the different needs of sphynx's. She has seen only one in her practice. He is the only vet I can comfortably see as she only treats cats ( I am super allergic to dogs so most vets are an allergy nightmare to me).
