@Cinafina hello how's handsome Butchie?
Head smooches sent
Hang in there kid. You're bound to find the answer soon enough. Here's wishing your baby a speedy recoveryWell,.. 4 weeks on Clavaseptin will be up on Friday, but it's not really workingWhereas I said he was 75-80% better on it the first 2 weeks, I'd say these last 2 weeks he's been maybe 50-60% better. So, in other words, not going in the right direction and no point in keeping him on them really. I've cancelled his check-up on Friday as I don't need a vet to tell me what I already know, but will wait 2-3 weeks and then go back to see what can be done. His regular vet said some kind of blood work can be done to determine what antibiotics would work best for him, so that'll probably be the next step, unless she wants to try another type of antibiotic first. I keep putting him in his nebulizer chamber once every other day, or daily if he's a bit more congested, and it seems to help him get it out easier - just a saline solution still. One day we might find the medicine that'll work, we will keep at it!
Thanks again for checking in! It really means a lot! I haven't been on much the last week or 2, been so busy...
Sorry to hear the meds aren't doing the trick. Your boy is so handsome. Is the nebulizer an everyday thing you can do or is that too much? Not sure as I haven't had a cat needing one just me as a kid.
So sorry to read all of this. Maybe it's not an infection... I'm a pharmacist... and sometimes infections are really food allergies/intolerances in disguise. Hope he gets better soon! ❤
Mycoplasma is notoriously a pain in the but to get rid of. It just takes time and a looong course of antibiotics.
