Assi, ich bete für Hänsel und für Sie. Ich hoffe, dass seine Genesung schnell und ohne Schwierigkeiten. Ich weiß, wie wichtig er für Sie ist. Er ist das Herz Katze.
Viele Umarmungen,
Susi
Update !!!!
we just brought Hansel home. He is bandaged up paw and leg and all up to his , I think you would call that a Cat armpit. He got a Cone of shame too, but she said if we supervise him, he does not have to put the Cone on.
He keeps shaking his leg.
He is not allowed to take the bandage off under any circumstances till Monday or Tuesday till we have a check up and she will rebandage it then. If he does, he can bleed to death, ( i guess because he would mess with it then ) , or loose his leg.
They had to do a lot more re graphting on his leg as they thought. They also had to cut a lot more she said. She said, 50 tiny stitches are in his leg. She showed us on paper how she re graphted it. She said, one small portion he will have Hair growing the wrong way, because thats how they kinda layerd the Skin around and turned it down wards so he can heal properly . She said in 10 days it should all be nicely healed up if he leaves it alone.
We do have pain meds and antibiotics for him.
Oh and she also said, he did not do well with his anesthesia , we have to if something comes up, look for diff options. His Bloodpressure was dropping she said and his heart rate went low and she did not like that.
right now he is laying there and I think he is a bit high. I hope he sleeps a lot ! View attachment 19702 View attachment 19703 View attachment 19704
thank You everyone for your thoughts and prayers . I hope he heals quick and the Cancer does not come back.
Assi, what anesthesia did the vet give Hansel? Was it a gas or was it through an IV?
when they did the Biobsy , I think it was thru an IV and it was quick in and out. He did really well with that. But she wanted to do the slower one this time, to make it easier on him. Or the healthier one ? I am not sure . But he did not do well on this one, thats what she said.
Yes, she did say, it was a challenge, she had to cut more to make sure it does not come back. It was also a challenge to regrahp it, since she thought she could get away with it, but couldnt .
So good you could spend the day with him and make sure he is not messing with his surgical site. Do the pain meds seem to be keeping him comfortable?
I'm hoping after the first couple of days he will start to not be so bothered by the wrap.
How are you doing, Assi? I know I'm just a wreak when my kits are sick.
Sorry to hear about his need for surgery and sending healing thoughts your way! I just had to comment on the cone. It's far better that they have to tolerate the cone than damage the incision. We learned the hard way with our collie. The vet said "oh, he won't need to wear the cone, just watch him" it was my fault for not watching close enough and we had to return to the emergency clinic for more stitches.awwwwww thank You Susi !!! :cat:

him laying by the Heater this morning and then i sat on the couch and first Hansel laid on my Lap and then Rooka and Hairy laid around him.
I did have to put the Cone of shame on him now , he was not leaving his bandage alone and biting really Deep into it and ripping on it. So Cone head it is. He is pouting right now under the blanket on the heating pad.
