@Maddie They say not to use plug in timers with the blankets (Not sure why).
We use(d) a timer on our water heater in the flat in the UK, as we didn't want constant boiling water. Perfect for stuff like this.
Our electric radiators were on timers as well.
Friend of mine uses timers to turn lights on and off in different rooms in her house when she's away. (Burglar deterrent)
