I just got my kitten today and when i collected him his eyes were very watery but i thought nothing of it, i drove 3hrs to collect him and on the way back i noticed that his eye has green/yellow discharge and was slightly swollen and is gradually getting worse
Could this be something serious ? Should i get him seen by a vet?

Definitely a vet check needed immediately, eye issues can be very serious. It’s also always a good idea to take all new animals to the vet within the first couple days (some breeders require it within 48 hours for their contract) for a checkup. As well quarantine new pets from your other animals incase of spread of any sickness.

Congrats on your new baby. Most likely a URI. Agree keep kitten away from any other pets. Your vet will get a good wellness check in and prescribe some antibiotics.

It could be herpes virus or conjunctivitis.
Very common in kittens but needs a vet ASAP for medication.
Get pet insurance.

I hope the vet helped settle your anxiety and got to treat your new baby. Mine had herpes it is treatable and he is much healthier today than my friends Sphynx who has not had herpes. So chin up and breath. Congrats on your new child
