Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce my 2 year old rescue sphynx, Beerus! He loves watching planes, scratching the couch instead of his cat tree, prickly facial hair, cuddling on mom's chest and napping in the sun. Dislikes: his cat tree, sweaters of any kind, getting his butt or eyes cleaned and the vacuum cleaner.
A bit of background - I rescued him and his sister about a year ago from a very unsafe breeding situation. His sister required more care than I could provide so she now lives with a vet tech friend of mine. When I got him he had never had his nails trimmed (he couldn't even retract them) or a bath. He has feline herpes so one of his eyes gets goopy a lot and it went untreated for so long that he actually has a scar on his cornea. BUT he's in a much better home now with the right food, affection and care. I'm new to even owning a cat so any hacks on products or tips for weight loss are definitely welcome!

Welcome to Sphynxlair. So glad you jumped in and became active in the community and shared your adorable baby with us @sailormoonsault One product I recommend to have on hand is Vetericyn it is great for scratches, cuts, burns etc. always great to have on hand.

Any tips on how to keep his little butt clean? He's not the best at cleaning it as he can't seem to figure out how to reach it/ he might just be too chubs for it. It gets fairly dirty fast and a wet paper towel doesn't seem to always do the job. I don't want to have to wet a hand towel multiple times a day for it. Are there any products?

You might try cutting up simple baby wipes. Unscented/alcohol free so it doesn’t dry the area too much. How bad is it? Due to the lack of hair, some tend to get some crispy bits left which is not abnormal.

I tend to wipe a touch of Vaseline on to soften any crustiest befor a nice warm wipe a few minutes later. It’s now not such a big deal for him as it comes off pretty quickly. I do need to follow up a day later to make sure there’s no grease left behind as it can looks even worse. But it is so quick and none evasive for him he does not get his nickers in a knot about it. Like before when I went in hell bound to clean. Soft, simple and quick and no bad looks of being violated
