This morning my little Gizzard made a few gagging noises and kept smacking his lips. Hubby and I also heard loud gurgles from his gut. He ate a few bites but not anywhere near his usual amount. I called and made an appointment for this afternoon. When I got home to get him I found he had vomited during the day and he felt very warm.

At the vets: Temp of 104.3, but no discomfort during palpatations of the belly. They drew blood and gave him a shot for nausea and an antibiotic. We'll get the results of the blood test in the morning.

Needless to say, I am very worried.

Thank you everyone. Still a few hours away from blood results, but he was up eating this morning though he was still gagging and still feels a bit warm. We suggested blockage, but the vet didn't think so since he has a fever and no tenderness to the belly, but I still wonder. I guess right now it's just wait and see if the tests show anything and then go from there.

Just heard from the vet. All blood work is normal. We're to continue watching and if nothing improves in the next day or two bring him back in. Of course if he gets worse, bring him right back in. I really hate working a job where I have to commute so far away. I used to be able to go home at lunch and check on the babies, but the company decided to move the home office to a different town, so now us peons have to commute. At least hubby should be home around 2 today and then is off tomorrow and can keep an eye on him.
