I was so happy when I got to the end of the thread and read that things had improved. Phew! Seeing that big lump on his neck made me sad :(. Our fingers and paws are crossed here that the anti inflammatory and the antibiotic will take care of the rest. Stay well Lucifer!

I'm sorry your poor boy is having troubles! Ill be keeping him in my thoughts! I hope that the medication will work and that it doesn't require him to have surgery.

Yay it looks so much better! Reminds me of being a vet tech and loving all the nasty things that came along with it (like bursting glands). LOL I know sick!! fingers, toes and eyes crossed this dose the trick and he is all better!

Sorry for the lack of updates on Lucifer's situation guys... I'll give you a full report now!

The antibiotics certainly worked wonders, there's hardly a trace of the infection left - only a small crusty spot where it burst open. But the meds have made poor Lucifer ill. He is vomiting up most of his food (luckily water does stay down) and after consulting the vet once again she advised us to quit the antibiotics. He has already had a week's worth (one course) but she gave us extra just to be sure when we picked it up last week.

So I'm having my fingers crossed his tummy will soon settle down on his own because I can tell he's feeling miserable :(

I'm glad he is healing but sorry for his tummy. Fingers crossed that the meds were enough to keep away the nasty infection so he can start feeling better!

Glad to hear he is healing, but sad to hear about the upset tummy. Antibiotics can really do a number on some stomachs so let's hope that is the case.

Glad Lucifer is doing better! It really looks so much improved that it has at least got to feel better for him too. Hopefully his belly is feeling better soon too. Yay Lucifer!

So Lucifer is still not feeling so well. We took him to the vet to get an anti-nausea shot and some pills to take home but now he doesn't want to eat anything. So Martin went and got some "astronaut" food (probably high calorie) with a syringe to force feed him while I'm stuck at work.
I'm so sick of being worried about him, what started as an infection has now led to us having to having to force food into him, sigh...

Well, hopefully this will get his digestion going again so he'll start eating out of his own volition.
And thanks for all the continued support!

@Inflamed Geez. I hate to hear he is not eating. When Jouët got spayed, she ended up with some sort of infection and ran a fever and then stopped eating. I spent 4 days force feeding her. The vet recommended Royal Canin RS wet food. It is packed with nutrients and easy to syringe. I have attached the nutritional info.

You can also try Susi's Glop recipe or even baby food. Just make sure it is all meat, no onion or garlic in it.

Prayers are sent Lucifer gets back on track fast. Please update us.

Catzzzmeow We're feeding something similar, Hill's a/d, also a recovery food that comes with a syringe. Hopefully he'll start eating on his own again in the next few days.
I actually checked for baby food a few days ago but apparently there's only complete meals for sale here, I couldn't find a meat only version. We'll stick to this high calorie food for now but I'll keep the glop in mind.

We also tried vitamin b12 shots for my moms cat... I was an EMT and my vet showed me how do the shots and subq fluid at home. I bought a bag of fluid to adminster at home instead of stressing her cat with trips to the vet to do it.. I ended up buying the bottle of vitamin b12 at her vets and administered at home too.. We also did nutrical paste.

I am sending continued prayers for Lucifers continued road to recovery. !

Oh man! I hope Akhen's thing doesn't get like this :/ now I don't even want to take him to the vet and just clean it myself! Im going to put the pictures of his from today up on my thread. Please look at them when you get a chance because for now, it's really not that bad...

Like I said in your thread, it does look alike. But my experience shouldn't keep you from seeing a vet! This just got way out of hand...
This is what it looks like now, waaaay better:

Please excuse the dirt, haven't had the heart to give him a bath on top of all his distress.

Lucifer is a bit more active now and ate his wet food on his own last night but still no or very little kibble so we're force feeding the Hill's as well.
Unfortunately, he has vomited a few times again, despite his medication. Nothing like before but he had his last pill yesterday... Fingers crossed everyone that he'll keep his food down today.
