Mochi occassionally does this cough but seems okay otherwise.
We've taken him to the vet before about it and they've done an xray and ultrasound and didnt find anything.
The doctor said it could be seasonal and possibly allergies or feline asthma. He gave us antibiotics for a cold and sent us home. This was about 6 months ago. I'm wondering if it could be something more serious like HCM? They didnt find anything in the xrays or ultrasound but I wasn't sure if they can find that in an ultrasound.
The cough has never expelled anything mucus or otherwise so it seems pretty dry.
Some background, he is 1.5 years old and before he was a year he did have bowel obstruction surgery. Before we realized he ate something he did coughing similar to this but way more intense, which is why we ran all the test on him again when he coughed since we were nervous it was that again.
He coughs like this maybe once or twice every few weeks so it is rarer.

We uploaded a video of this on YouTube since the file was too big to attach on this post:

My boy does that occasionally as well. It seems to me to almost he like he’s clearing his throat.

All three of my sphynx do this now and then. The vet said it was nothing to worry about. Probably just like we human something cough when we swallow something not correctly

Thank you that helps ease my mind. He did get a full blood work up including a ProBNP test that didnt come back with anything.

He had slightly low heart rate at the time so I was worried about heart disease, but nothing else came back so they said it could have been related to his gut health.

I've also contacted our vet just in case we can do anymore tests to be sure.
