What does your Sphynx cat smell like?

Majority of the peeps here says theirs smells like food. My Pebbles smells like those newly package plastic raincoat. Like when you first buy home a raincoat and you opened it up, that clean plastic smell hits your nostril. That's what Pebbles smells like and since I really like that clean plastic smell, Pebbles smells really good. Even after I give him a bath with his WhiskerCity Spring Breeze scent, he still smells plastic, lol.

Nunghee smells like sweat socks even after I bathe him. His breath could knock a buzzard off a gut wagon...eww!

My Fluffy has breath that could kill a small child as well. And, if you squeeze her too hard, she'll blast you from the other end! i think it s a protective mechanism!

@ some of the replies!!!! My 2 smell lovely like clean babies after bath-time but when that time is approaching I always say " OMG they smell like a dead hedgehog!!"
Kinda silly really as I have NO idea what a hedgehog smells like dead or alive!!!!

Dont have to be mad to own a Sphynx or 2.....but it helps!!!!

Emma smells like mushrooms right before her bath day. I love the smell

We have had a number of funny stories on Emma's smell. Just recently, I took my niece to dinner (she is 9) and we ordered fried mushrooms, when they put them on the table she blurted out "I can't believe they would fry Emma", I laughed so hard at her because I got a whiff of the Emma/Mushroom smell at the same time

This pole is absolutely hilarious!!! My little Winston definitely smells like mushrooms! Especially when he has been curled up in a little sweaty ball sleeping. Haha. Im glad im not the only one with a mushroom kitty.

It's really weird, but when Pixie and Ollie come out from under the blankets in the morning they smell like a hospital...a fresh/medicinal smell...very strange. Otherwise they have no smell...unless its right after their baths, then they smell like coconuts.

I don't have my little cuties yet, but I remember someone telling me before that they smelled like french fries. They didn't say if it was more like McDonald's or Burger King! I thought to myself, hmm, I do love french fries
When I asked the breeder this, she started laughing. I guess I gave her a good chuckle!

I was so excited when I saw this poll! My family thinks I'm crazy for thinking my pets have a distinct smell. My dog doesn't really have a smell all over, but her feel always smell exactly like corn chips!

Lenore smells kind of like mushrooms and dirt with something else unidentifiable mixed in there, too - a clean, earthy smell that's kinda hard to describe. When she's really warm after a nap under the blankets, she almost smells salty, too. It's so nice when she's clean!

When she's dirty, however, she smells like Sasquatch's used gym socks.

Winston doesn't have much of a smell most of the time, but when he comes out from under the covers - if he's gotten real warm and cooked - he smells exactly like a Band-Aid. It's so strange (and endearing).

Timmy's warm, sweet & salty, sweaty smell is one of my favorite things about him. I too and guilty of smelling my cat frequently; and people do think I'm nuts. Oh well, I love him and the way he smells.

I love Timmy: his look, smell, sound (he talks constantly), and absolutely EVERYTHING about him!

My 3 certainly have the earthy/mushroomy/potato smell but it is usually overpowered by.... Bath & Body Works Vanilla Sugar lotion. NO I don't put it ON my kids, but they are constantly on ME so they smell like my lotion.

I agree. It's no wonder when he gets smelly I feel sick. I hate canned veg soup.

To everyone whose sphynx has horrible breath....

Timmy used to have really bad breath. I wouldn't even want to be near him when he was bathing b/c the smell was so strong/bad. I brush his teeth now. Problem fixed!
I usually do it 15 to 20 min. after he eats dinner, and then he doesn't have food until bedtime. This has really helped with the breath and it has been keeping his teeth and entire mouth healthy. The vet said "great work." Brushing has especially helped with our 7 yr. old cat. He was gonna need his cleaned and after brushing for a year the vet said his teeth were in great condition and there was no need to clean them. Just FYI. It takes time and effort, but it has many benefits as well.
