What does your Sphynx cat smell like?

@KansasSphynxMom says Sobe smells like corn chips. Both of the girls smell kinda mushroom-y to me and Raskol smells kinda like clean leather. They ALL smell like AWESOME Sphynx tho!!!

I never understood scent of a sphynx until I was owned by one. Max DOES smell a bit like mushrooms. But very pleasant.

I can't even figure out what my girl smells like but I drink that smell in every time we cuddle! I adore the scent of warm sphynx skin.

I gave Max a little wipe down today, and now he doesn't have any scent. I think the mushroom scent increases with days without a wipe down. At least in Max's case.

Sansa smells sweet like clean baby most of the time. She doesn't smell like anything hilarious yet when it's time for a bath, just less like sweet clean baby.

I was about to post a thread about sphynx smells and found this one. I had no idea that the mushroomy scent was so common! Rosie smells like raw mushrooms, which I love to eat, so it's a very pleasant smell for me. When she's had a bath, she smell faintly of oranges, also quite delicious!

Oh hah, I love this! Mulder doesn't really have a particular scent unless he's going on a week since his last bath. And when he gets to that point, he doesn't really smell bad...hubby and I have conversed on this - we would say he smells "earthy" but I wouldn't go as far as mushrooms (which I hate). He smells like that sometimes too when he's been roasting under a blanket all night, probably sweaty!

I have a coconut lemongrass and a chocolate mint shampoo for him that I rotate, he will smell like those before about a day before it dissipates.

I would highly recommend that any cat, Sphynx or otherwise that comes from a cattery and has diarrhea should not only have a Fecal and Giardia test sent to the lab but also tested for tritrichomonas foetus. This is a single cell protozoan parasite that is much more common then people think. It will NOT be detected in a normal fecal test. It should be detected by a PCR test. I found it on my Sphynx by running a Feline Diarrhea Panel by Idexx labs. He was also infected with giardia and roundworms when I got him, treated for those but his diarrhea did not clear up until he was treated for the tritrichomonas. I have a coworker who got her Sphynx kitten from a cattery in a completely different state then mine and he too was positive. It's very easily treated with ronidazole.

Kojak doesn't always smell, but when he does, it smells like a baked potato. Thank goodness he doesn't smell like stinky feet or Fritos!

I can't compare mia's smell to anything reallt. All I know is I love the way she smells. I love to nuzzle her she gets annoyed sometimes when I want to kiss all over her little face but I do it anyways muahahahhaa

When Captain Teague is dirty he smells like freshly cut alfalfa hay. It's really quite pleasant, actually. My husband says a barn.

Because I read this thread before I got her, I smelled her in the car on the way home and she smells very floral to me. Quite pleasant

When Sabrina is dirty she really smells like a sack of potatoes. But even then I still let her sleep on my chest at night, this must be real love haha.. But when she's clean she smells like a clean perfumed little baby.
