Bath time problems

Hi guys! My little Bambino Kiwi HATES bath time! Last time he bit me so hard I bled for 2 days. I’ve tried getting in with him, toys in the tub and giving treats. Any suggestions? He’s a dirty gross boy

@Jennilouwho , mine hate spa day. be sure to take care of your bite and watch for infections. been there done that, ouch. hope u are okay. cat bites are serious and get quickly infected. I believe it was member @Xandria who posted about her experience.

years ago a member suggested the stokkkes flexi bath. it is small, fits on bathroom counter, has a drain hole. game changer with my crew.

I position it over the sink, drain plug out. handtowel in the bottom. I set up all supplies, pitcher of water with a few drops of hylyt shampoo, will baby face clothes. shampoo bottle ready to go too.

when I ordered it online, I let them play in it with ping pong balls. now I dont have to wear a coat to give spa days. I light the hylyt shampoo, soap free, easy rinse.

when they stand up on the edge of the flexibath to get out. I gently hold them (wearing exfoliating gloves , helps hold slippery complaining kitty and helps clean them ) and wash their belly arm pits , neck rear legs. I use a rinse cup I keep in the sink with the water slightly running to refill and rinse quickly.

surely members will chime in . some take in the shower with but no way here.. I am just happy I no longer have to wear a coat of armour for spa day. the top right search box may be helpful to find previous threads and tips.

LOL I am not sure who is more stressed out here by bath times me or Shamus. I started in the shower thinking it would be the best and easiest. I now go to the kitchen and use the sink. I am lucky it is very deep. I hold his neck where his mom should carry him firmly down so not to hurt or scratch him. Before he goes into the sink I have already given him a soapy rub down with a lukewarm facecloth and soap. So the sink is for the rinse. He moves around so much he frees himself of soap suds. I no longer get scratched. I do have to wash the floor afterwards as that’s where I do the initial wash
Once he is in a wrapped up in warm towel tight as a bug to limit his movement and being rubbed down he is purring away quiet happily
As long as he is rinsed off properly we do not need to repeat this for another month or two.
I do like the suggestion made by @Yoda mom . I am going to try and find one here to try out

You may want to dry waterless shampoo from renedewedpet products. It works great. They have such a large variety of products for hairless cats.

I feel your pain. When Cleo was little, I tried to bathe her in the sink, and she scratched my wrist so badly that I had visible scars for about 5 years. Now, our bathing rituals are similar to @Yoda mom , except we use an old-fashioned baby bathtub that was sold as a dog bathtub. We also fill the tub so it is up to their bellies, and make the water very warm. I make sure to have yummy treats for after bath, so they know that something good is coming.
