Hey all! long time no see! i got a virus that redirects this site so i can never look at it :-(
But goblins come down with some wired spots on the back of his neck and down his back to his hips and i had to get your opinion.
heres a pic:
they kinda look like somthing splashed on him, but no mater how much i scrub they wont come out.
they dont bother him at all and arnt noticoble to the touch with no texture.
hes never missed a bath, once a week with Olay body jojoba butter body wash.
no change in diet, just water and taste of the wild since a kitten.
Heres a pic:

Yes,
They appear to be sun spots or age spots. Leonidas also has these brown spots on his body in numerous places.
A virus that redirects? It is on your side not on Sphynxlair i imagine?
thanks,

I agree...they look like sun spots to me. Choppy has gotten some over his eyes...I try to keep him out of direct sunlight to some extent (trying to keep him pretty for shows and, to some extent, I worry about skin cancer) but he's sneaky as heck and keeps finding new sun spots all the time.

Your kitty looks fairly light in color and pretty hairless, so maybe that has something to do with the higher spot-to-sun time ratio.

Yep, Butternuts got em too. They developed about 6 months after birth and have gradually gotten worse. I say "worse" but it adds a little character to the little clown. I noticed them after giving him a bath so I thought it was the soap originally. But they seem to be harmless.

I can take care of that virus issue you got. If you know something about Windows you can edit the msconfig and un-check anything that doesn't look right in the startup tab and reboot. Viruses usually have a weird name like xcvdssio238cd or something. Some viruses won't allow you to edit the msconfig, in that case do it in safe mode.

Are they spots? When my Chihuahua was a young adult, less than 2 years old I was giving him a bath. He was a White long haired, with 3 large black spots on his back, with black ears. (He looked like a pape-ion) Anyways I had to give him a bath regularly to keep his hair nice and white. I had him on his back in the tub and I found black spots on his naked belly, buy his... Pee-pee. I thought he had gotten some oil from a car or something down there. So I was scrubbing and scrubbing to no avail, his nice pink skin turned red I was trying so hard to get it off of him. Turns out he developed spots as he got older. The hell I put that poor dog though!

Thanks everyone for the replys!
Today i was holding him and the morning light illuminated some of the spots and i noticed they where a little flacky, not comming off, but a definit diffrent texture to them and the ones on his shoulder blades are getting red.... the red might be due to him running under the couch at full blast and hitting it on the hard wood edge... but the other spots are kinda brownish now.
they still dont bother him when you touch them or anything.
can i put neosporin on them or is there something cat safe i can put on there?
and if something did splach on him and it stuck on there and iratating him what kinda cleanner can i try and wash it off with with out iritating them more?
heres a new photo, i brought out the big guns (high res camera) and put the harshest light on him i could, so i can make them look as bad as possible.

Have you changed food? Or has his food changed its formulation? Flork's spots look a lot like a food allergy reaction.
No same food and formula his breeder fed him since a kitten. Taste of the wild :rockymountaine feline formula.
The only thing thats changed since he left the breeder is his kitty litter, i was trying them all until i seteled on scoop away, but I've been useing that for a 50 pound bag and a half now.

Belle has a few spots on her body and she's almost 4 yrs. I keep an eye on them and they haven't gotten worse or anything and they don't bother her. I think as long as they don't change drastically your baby will be all right.

The drying out and flakiness of the spots make me think of an allergic reaction. His food hasn't changed, and you have been using this litter for a while before the spots showed up. How about any changes in laundry detergent or new blankets or rugs? How about changes in household cleaners or sprays. Perhaps his skin came in contact with something crawling and playing around. Is he still getting new spots or do they seem to be going away?

Everything is exactly the same as when we got him, I shop at Costco so i still have stockpiles from before i even had him lol but definitely likely he got it running around crawling into places. Im sure what ever it is he got from running full blast hitting the wood edge of the bottom of the couch and the scrape got infected or something.

I thought the spots where going away as they lighten up but now they are dark again and i feel like they are bigger.

A friend said it looked like a fungal infection. and after looking at photos, im thinking this is what it is. I didn't see any cats with it probably cuz they had hair, but the spots do look a little like jock-itch sept not as red and flaky and big.

no mater what it is i wanna go get him checked out. i was gonna wait tell i went back home to our doctor, but i just can sit on this any longer and was wondering if anyone knew any good vets in San Francisco?
i thought i found a good one on nob-hill just for cats but then got home and the reviews where terrible so now I'm trying to call vets but am tired of hearing "they are just like every other cat".

Thanks for keeping us updated. Hopefully a trip to a vet will help clear them up once and for all. I can't suggest a vet but if you can't find one that has experiecnce with Sphynx, look for one that specializes in dermatology/skin issues. Good luck.

goblins rash spread up to his ears and head and the stuff that was already there got bigger lucky i already had the appointment made and took him in today.

200 bucks later, the vet thinks its ether urticaria hyperpigmentosa or pyoduma, demidex.... but not certain haha
so i got cytology test and a Convenia injection and hopefully it will clear up in 3 days or so, fingers crossed
and she wants me to go to a dermatologist specialist that's 150 just for the appointment but i guess wrote a paper on this exact thing and treated 3 other sphynxs with it. but im not sure, i don't have enough money to cover this visit so will see...

My sphynx has this.! It is called urticaria pigmentosa. They get scabby and black spots. You can help giving the cat piriton tablets

:) hope this helps!

Here's the link to the common skin disorder in for sphynx and rex cats. They suggest steroids (which I don't like using on cats) and/or essential fatty acids such has fish oil (pure, and no salmon) My Cornish Rex Spockie had it and the fish oil seems to be doing the trick. 1 1000mg/day squeezed onto food. Other causes in flee/mosquito reaction but same outcome. They provide a picture of a case that looks pretty severe. Makes me wonder why they waited so long in presenting their cat to a vet????

Hudson has now developed these spots as well. He's just shy of 6 months. Are we sure they are just sun spots? (I tend to over worry) I live in a basement apartment and he hasn't really been laying in the sun lately.

I just posted something like this a couple of weeks ago, titled, 'Freckles'. My Boone has developed spots also. He does get sun exposure from sitting in windows. Here's a pic of the back of his head, but he has the spots on his body also.... just on his dark areas, not his light areas.
