Eye booger stain

hello,
We have a pink Sphynx named rain
Lately he’s been getting big eye boogers, this morning his face was stained!
It was bath day today and not even the bath removed his stains

how should I clean him?

Eye boogers (red/brownish) colours are very common with a sphynx. I use baby wipes to clean my sphynxs eyes.

@Rain could be allergies too and conjunctivitus. If it gets worse I would say something is triggering him. I have found flair ups happen from allergies and when they are run down.

Use a warm cotton pad with warm water and gently hold against it and wipe gently. You can use human grade ones for example Cottonwool Rounds | Dove Beauty

Took him to the vet turns out he is allergic to chicken (We were feeding him animal instincts 100% chicken) now we are feeding him hydrolyzed protein from royal canin and not only does he love it but his eye boogers disappeared!!

I just wanted to say thank you!

Everyone always said eye boogers were normal but I thought my little guys may have been a bit excessive. Recently they discontinued his food (Acana Appalachian Ranch) so I switched to the similar one from Orijen. Every so often his stomach gets a little funny, I give him Fortiflora for a few days and it clears up. Well this time they also switched the formula on the Fortiflora... I thought maybe it was weaker and/or the new food was messing with him. I started to transition him to the fish based one and it got worse. When I saw the post about eye boogers it clicked for me. He may be allergic to the fish and had been getting the six fish treats the whole time. The treats were enough for eye boogers but when he got the food as well it was too much for his stomach. The very first day with no fish food or treats the results were immediate!

@rustythunder , hugs n head smooches. glad you got it fugires out for your baby. btw, my crew could not handle the US acna or Orijen. they used to do fine when it was only coming from canada. now us orders are from us pla and all new "regionally sourced " ingredients. I had to take them off of it.. they were greaseballs too on the US acana .

its crazy how delicate Sphynx are, totally worth it though.
