We were seen by a different vet this time within the same office, our usual one was in surgery, I like this one way more it felt like she was actually listening to my concerns seriously and spent way more time looking at his whole body.
That's great, just ask to see this one from now on.
They always hate the cone but if you have a plastic one those are the worst. I have one of these for emergencies:
I keep telling my husband he needs one of these or something similar but he’s like “that’s ridiculous it’s the same thing” I think I’m just going to keep the cone off (beside an hour after the ointment) unless I see him itching or excessively grooming.
Yeah 1 hour is a safe amount of time. Hubby is mistaken but he's probably thinking what else is this little runt going to need?! LOL it's fine, he's not even going to be wearing a collar that long from the sound of it.
Pretty much lol neither of us realized how much extra work these types of cats were, I honestly don’t think I’ll ever have another “normal” cat again, this cat is hilarious and full of crazy personality then when he’s tired he just wants a cuddle.
Yeah slightly its weird, it really felt like he had calluses on him like you’d get from working with your hands a lot.
Yeah he eats really fast too like he thinks we’ll steal it away, same thing with water, I’ve stopped leaving His food down for him.
Don't worry about how much he eats if he looks good.**** In other words if he's not getting fat, let him go to town. This breed can eat like nobody's business but they burn it off so it's all good.
Misty sounds like one of mine. He self regulates and stays in great shape. But I also have 2 others that will eat anything and everything.It’s hard to tell in pictures but his skin does look a bit better already. I was told to let a kitten eat as much as they want to until they are fully grown and then to regulate if necessary. I still free feed Misty as an adult and she self-regulates, maintaining a healthy weight while being extremely active despite being indoor only. The way she eats does follow the feed/exertion scenario described above… but it’s on her own terms if that makes sense. This is no doubt different with different cats, maybe not all can self regulate, but just wanted to share
Making it yourself is a fantastic idea. That's what my mother would have done. I used to be like that but over the years I have grown accustomed to everything being cheaply made and disposable. When something breaks, it's actually cheaper to throw it out and buy a new one. Or if you need something you don't currently own, jump on amazon and buy one made in China that doesn't cost much. Of course, nothing lasts much, either. I don't think it's just me; I think this is how society has evolved. The trick is getting one's mind to think in terms of "how can I make this" instead of just buying one somewhere. Good for you!!!
I totally agree....on the other hand, you don't have the time to make everything yourself, but you can choose to do some of it!
Or ask someone that owns a sewing machine to make it for me. Last year when covid first started and you couldn't find masks anywhere, one of my neighbors started sewing masks at home and offering them to all the neighbors. All she asked for was a donation of whatever you could afford so she could keep buying material. I'm pretty sure she could make a doughnut for me for a reasonable price.
I’m going to try the carrier thing and see if my scale is sensitive enough for it, I wish I knew the results of the culture already, I think they said it’ll take 10 days but I’m glad they didn’t wait to start treatment.
