Does anyone else have a slight problem with "play time"? My little one is extreamly loving, but it's like someone flips a switch and he's crazy! He flys round the house crashing into everything possible, launches himself at faces, backs, legs from miles away, (when he's being lovey he climbs on my back very nicely, this is just claws and teeth everywhere!)

Don't get me wrong I love play time, but as he's getting bigger it's getting a little less cute! He near pierced my lip the other day, and my boss asked if I was self harming due to the scratches all over!!

We have toys and other animals he plays with I was just wondering if there was any tips to just tone him down slightly before he bites someone who isn't me!! Tia

Is this going on at a particular time of night? Is he alone a lot? How old is your kitty?

It can be any time in the day or night, whenever he's not sleeping or sleepy, he's never alone he always has a minder if I'm at work and he is 5 months old :) I know kittens do play rough, but this is just beyond anything I've know haha I just think face lunges need to be nipped in the bud!

Haha I'll get him a reinforced one as he's broke all his previous ones playing tug of war with the dog :p thank you
Redirect his play to a stick toy with something dangling from it like da bird or similar[/QUOTE

ALSo it's in no way purposely aggressive, no hisses or growls always purring, just abit full on with teeth and claws, when he's not like this he is the most loving cat who loves baths, snuggles and watching batman haha

I agree to redirect him when he starts playing rough. Bites and scratches are a no no. You could get a toy like kong kickeroo and give him that as it works pretty well for them to kick and scratch.

Just be strict and firm and make sure everyone does the same and he should learn.

Sorry that didn't finish I clicked an advert my mistake! Anyway it just seems like he's not bothered to much by toys unless he's playing with the dog, and will go for my hand rather than the toy! I don't know I'm sure he will calm abit soon, thanks guys? I'll get some extra enticing toys for him :)
