I have just cried for you reading this its horrible I know it really is, Ozzie gained his wings and I will not know whether was a clot or what it was that sadly let him go that night and I dont want to if i am honest all i find peace in is that i know he is not suffering anymore from heart disease! My baby he is and still my heart cat no matter where he is. God bless them!
Sam sure knows your love and when the time comes you will know it's right to say goodbye evan though that day will break your heart we owe it to them when it comes.
I have only had to have 1 dog put to sleep in my life when I was 9 so wasnt as attached as I am to animals now but since then I havent had to have it happen, Ozzie gave it me back and passed away in his own time to save me the pain of having to do the putting to sleep.
Plus I was with him in the room when he fell to sleep.
My baby I miss him so much!!
Sam is so sweet and his little friend also I love them they look adorable! He will know when he has had enough and that's when we give it them back I hope he really gives you some time so you can make a few more special memories
My heart is seriously breaking for you right now it really is xx

today is a great day. he had his piroxicam and is happy playing with his duck and cuddling. did get him to eat today and is is napping at my feet right now. he has no idea he has TCC. taking every breath as a gift. there were 2 dogs that went into remission on the meds. I told him he can be number 3! .

I'm so sorry Tammy, that's not the news any of us were hoping for. I'm with you in saying that third time is the charm. C'mon remission for sweet Sam boy! Just look at him and that little ducky.

@Bailey21 , I keep telling him "you got this" ... yesterday he enjoyed his duck outside. lol he is such a wimp. real ducks came, follow him across lawn and he is like no mum! that little duck is after me! and he wants to go back inside. 140 lb dog afraid of being followed by a 10 lb duck.

well, sorry I have not been too active . Sam is sick., not eating, but carried his toy duck for a bit today. then just wants to go sleep,

having a hard time getting him to eat now . refuses to walk to his dish even. on new antibiotics smz-tmpds which is I think making him nauseous, etc along with the Piroxicam. no call back from vet. so made command decision to give the Piroxicam every other day while treating for UTI. he has cancer. so won't matter really going every other day.

He would not even eat the hills A/D recovery food. I broke open the kitties proplan urinary focus ocean whitefish. got him to eat that. but 3 oz can is not enough for a 140lb pup. sick to my stomach as I learn the cystocentesis bladder urine poke is not good for pups with TCC, can spread, seed the cancer. well, that was done and a catheter. so I am sick to my stomach.

going to syringe feed the A/D and water. I did get him to drink some water from his Pool lanai bucket I wash and use daily for them (drink safe hose). just not enough. please keep him in your thoughts.

Don’t feel bad about the bladder puncture. It’s not something you could have known. They really had to get it done to diagnose him. Sadly, I think it had already spread through his body.

I'm sorry he doesn't feel like eating. When I was nursing my lymphoma kitty she was like that and sometimes I had to syringe feed.

I was always looking for food that would get her attention and I thought cats like liver, so I'll try liverwurst. Well she liked it, so I started getting liverwurst at the Publix deli. They knew me at the deli counter from going all the time.

Going to the oncologist I got to meet some of the other patients and there was a couple that would take their dog. I don't remember the breed but he was about the size of a small horse lolol. They said he enjoyed steak so that's what they fed him.

Whatever makes them happy is the point. Of course having his rubber ducky and being with you is medicine for the soul. I hope you get to enjoy the rest of the weekend.

@Condo commando , headed to vet to pick up more meds, the usual cocktail I have to my other rotties years ago to keep on hand when potentially near the end of the journey. at least will have if something comes up on a weekend. Cerenia and Tramadol. switching his other meds since it looks like typical sam has reactions. poor pup is even allergic to benadryl and penicillin insulins. so on sulphur smz tmpds, now he has ataxia (wobbly drunk) . not sure if from the piroxicam or antibiotics. lol. yes, picked u liverwurst yesterday to pill him. he has now learned to be suspicious of peanut butter(jiff , non xylitol ). oh, and he thinks canned cat food proplan urinary focus whitefish is the rotties meow. got him to eat 4 cans. this morning got him to eat a can of hills a/d with rotisserie chicken topper. he still wants his duck toy., peeing good volume but not clear enough yellow sigh. still dark as if blood in it. has not had any more blood tissue visible and not peeing every 10 feet dribbling. so , keeping him on the antibiotics, switched the piroxicam to every other day. picking up a different med now . willl have to give it a few days to flush his system off the old med. he is such a darn good boy, takes the hand pilling like a champ., loves all people, pups and kitties. a kind gentle soul. rotties break my heart with osteosarcoma usually at age 12-13. Sam is only 7 ( born xmas day). we just had a little xmas in July with his favorite hedgehog. he actually whined in front of a box I had it hidden for for xmas. figured tomorrow is never a promise, so enjoyed it together early. TCC cancer is aggressive and no cure or real remission even with chemo so opted out of that. it's in urethra which is awful bcz can get a blockage any time. so holding a cup under him every wee to check volume and color, particles. he takes his duck out each time wobbling along smiling alert. will do what I can this week and see if there is any improvement. I will know in my heart. some other folks changed meds and it was a world of difference. the stuff he is on now is really hard on them. will give him that chance and take it from there with dignity and peace as I promise my babies.

thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
