Terrible rash all over his body :-(

Well it is getting to be summer here in Chicago....Has anyone ever used sunscreen on their Sphynx? Not that Kramer will ever be outside without someone with him but if we do go somewhere I would like to protect him; I don't think he would appreciate wearing clothes when it is scorching hot out. I have read & gotten so many different opinions on it I'm not sure what I think or where I stand. A lot of the companies that make pet sunscreen DO NOT have all the ingredients on the label, which makes me nervous...I was thinking baby sunblock since their skin is similar to a baby. Anyone have any experience on or with this?

we have a white fur cat whos 8 now, the vets told us when he was a baby to cream his pink ears in factor 50 in the summer & we've never had any problems

@fuzzy bare can you attach a pic? Yes the cleaner can easily cause issues if harsh. I have had rashes on my one boy due to too much detergent in loads of blankets the machine did not rinse it out .

Thank you for replying. The next day it was gone. now I scrub the tub before his bath with the baby shampoo, rinse then fill tub. no more rash. I was so upset he had that rash, so glad it's gone.

@fuzzy bare Happy to hear it cleared up so fast and you got your answer of what the issue was. It can drive owners nuts trying to figure out what causes rashes...you hit the nail on the head!

Roo went home today with Bethany, who I found here on Sphynxlair. It's a very sad day but we hope she will be happy in her new home.
