Oscar is on monthly preventative for everything now, so he's essentially getting the slow kill treatment.
Lynnie looks perfect, but don't let him fool you! He's a hot mess. He managed to get on top of my 135 gallon fish tank and push one of the lights into it while I was on vacation. However, when I make kissing noises he starts purring. He's very much still a kitten. I guess I got lucky with my last few kittens and they haven't been nearly as hyper!

Lynnie is doing well, and he loves the new papasan! Oscar and he get along fairly well. He also enjoys the fish tanks, sometimes too much

@Sheldon13 That's one of his favorite activities! I tell him to go watch the fishies, and he runs over and hangs on the tank.
I have a Koi betta that's 'his fish'. Anytime he sees Captain Nemo he's trying to bat at him.

Am I the only person with a Sphynx that fakes illness/injury to go to the vet? This is the second time in three months that he's pretended to be sick or hurt to go to work with me.
Also, he thinks he has a new permanent sister, which unfortunately I'm unable to accommodate at this time. I have limited funds and between Lynnie and the dog, plus others, I can't afford another pet at this time, though I would love to keep her, mostly for him. I was planning to acquire a dwelf/bambino later this year before the dog was added to our family, but now that's indefinitely on hold. Any suggestions?

@Sheldon13 Yes, that's our newest foster, Calista. She was dropped off at my job at about 4 weeks, and it's been about a month since then. She has an adopter interested once she's vetted. I just hate that Lynnie will be the odd one out again.

Aww bless. Does he do well with new fosters? It might be that you can just keep a rotation of new friends for him.

Also have you considered getting insurance? It really helps with affording those unexpected vet bills.

@MaddieP , of course the dog may think a stuffed animal is a new chew toy though too..ugh..

you could get a stuffed animal along with a microwavable snuggle pad and put with the stuffed animal in a safe room for visits :) ? kept away from dog of course.

This is really the only cat foster I've had since I've gotten him. I'm also going through some medical issues right now that may be long term, and our local shelter is closed due to COVID.
I hate to think that's he's lonely, but after Calista gets adopted I'm not sure another foster is feasible. My dad has already told me absolutely no more animals come in the house for any reason.
Our dog isn't too much of a chewer, being 14, but there are 3 other cats in the house that just aren't a fan of Lynnie, my other boy included. I've been dying for sphynx #2, but that isn't an option now.
Thanks for all of your advice! I need to win the lottery, really. I've already promised myself after the dog goes if I'm able to I'm adopting another sphynx asap.

@Sheldon13, I have Trupanion for Lynnie, but our pup was adopted at 14 with a myriad of pre-existing issues like heartworms, lipomas, deafness, etc. It wouldn't cover very much at this point.

I hear you. It’s impossible to newly insure an elderly animal.

@Yoda mom , all three of the breeders I've been in contact with have available kittens! Lynne's breeder is discounting their current kittens and told me I'd get a discount on the next one... it's so hard not to go for one! They have bambino boys, which are what got me into Sphynxes. So darn cute I can't stand it!
