I am updating this to let everyone know that Everest passed away today. We had to put him down, he had internal bleeding and the beginning stages of organ failure. We didn’t want to believe it had gotten “that bad” because he’s always been a stinker, always creative finding ways to get sick or get rushed to the ER for a blockage of some kind.

Today he let us know it was his time to go, I won’t be graphic but there was no denying he was ready to stop suffering. He got to have his favorite snacks and passed away with his favorite people around him.

(((((squeeze hugs))) my heart hurts for you... Everest only knew your love and care beyond measure, eternal love.
I know how very special he will always be in your hearts.

Hold the precious of moments closest to heart, remember the love, soo much love.

Sweet Everest touched my heart forever too. Please know I am here for you anytime , a shoulder, an ear to listen.
His spirit is free and soars in your hearts forever and ever.

"Replied the glorious cat
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am….forever and ever and ever."

I am so sad to see this. Deep condolences. I so wanted to find he had found the proper home but i guess the universe had a different idea. He will be with my Paka where HCM can no longer harm him.

Thank you @tuffysmommy . We just wanted him to be happy more than anything, we knew he was feeling rough and blamed it on our activity levels with him. I didn’t want to believe that HCM was taking him so quickly, but there was no denying it in the end. The heart failure came so fast and brutally he was already not the same over 24 hours, his face was so sweet in the end looking at us. “You can let go, it’s okay” was what he needed to hear, and I’m glad he didn’t leave us and THEN have this happen. He got to know that we would stay with him and that we never wanted him to go away, just feel happy again.
