@Nefersphynx Hello it’s great that you’ve taken photos for your records. I would definitely go to a vet and get them to have a look. Just to make sure that it’s not ring worm or a yeast infection. I would also start thinking about giving your baby a bath. I use a baby shampoo. I would also start cleaning nails of the oily residue and cleaning years every night with special products to avoid getting yeast infections.

do you think they are mushrooms? next week we are going to go to the vet to see what it could be ... his ears and nails are the only things I have cleaned so far because it is true that a lot of dirt remains on the nails. I hope they are mushrooms and not anything more serious ..

I’d be asking to see the vet earlier especially if it’s a yeast infection. The vet will be able to do a skin scraping (doesn’t leave marks) and check the cells under a microscope and give medicine if needed.

At the end we did a biopsy of the lump which the vet thought was suspicious but had no real evidence it turns out it was lymphoma.

Does your sphynx have urticaria pigmentosa/severe hive?

I desperately need to connect with anyone owning a sphynx with this health problem.

Mine are on itrazole its worked, havent found what triggers it yet but have changed everything beef, fleas, could even be washing powder, humans get this condition as well

Went to another vets tonight first thing she said that it looks like heat rash even with the lumps, when there hot,hair . Follicles on the skin opens thats where bacteria gets in i no my pores get slightly bigger on ahot day

Mine had hives but not to this extent! We got her allergy tested and she's allergic to a lot of pollen and especially dust! She's also allergic to a few proteins so we switched foods. 1/4 a claritin a day for the airborne dust allergies and she's good. Maybe try and get an allergy test too?

Our cat had hives like this, not as bad though. We got her allergy tested and found out she has a sever allergy to dust and other pollens. She's also allergic to a few proteins, so now she's on a fish only diet. We give her 1/4 a claritin a day for the airborne stuff. Maybe you can get an allergy test? It wouldn't hurt, we also found out she is allergic to penicillin from the test. Hope you find out what's going on <3

This thread is honestly my last hope for an answer. I have three beautiful sphynx cats: Wonton (m), Bean (f) and Bosco (f). All three are from different breeders. Bean, my first lady, who is 2yo, is experiencing the same symptoms: red bumps, itchy skin, and lesions.

I have: switched from regular to hypoallergenic detergent, switched from laundry detergent to laundry soap, changed food countless times, litter, washed her less often, washed her more often. I've changed my shampoo, my self-care items, cleaning supplies, fabrics for her napping blanket, etc.) We are trying to transition to a raw diet to see if it helps but I've noticed she'll only eat the fish and leave everything else (organ meats, chicken, beef, etc.) I personally think shes telling me something but my husband thinks im nuts.

She has had steroid shots and manages to get better for a few weeks, but it's 2 at most and then she'll go right back to how she was. We were directed by the vet to give her Benadryl but we try and refrain from doing it on the regular. I personally don't like to see her all drugged up and asleep all day. I don't believe its addressing the root cause and i don't see much of a difference in her scratching frequency so i dont see the benefits in giving it to her. I saw many comments to try Zyertc so I'll give it a try. We've been on this hideous hampster wheel for far too long (1.5 years) and I just want the answer so she can feel relief.

I am kindly asking if anyone has any advice or direction. We're willing to try anything.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with this issue. Did the vet take a biopsy from the skin? Did he/she diagnosed it as Uticaria Pigmentosa?
My boy Toa has UP. Diagnosed almost 8 years ago. I tried all kind of food but never found one that didn't give him a rash. So for 7 years he get a daily prednisone pill 5mg. He does well on it and doesn't had a rash since then.

Trying a limited ingredient food might be worth a shot. You can google for brands etc. but with these foods have less ingredients so usually helps to narrow down if a certain ingredient is one they are allergic to. We do see many are allergic to chicken. That might some place to start. Please keep us updated. @sofiaxx

I showed a Sphynx breeder that pic when we were at the show this weekend and that's what she thinks it is too. I took some better pictures specifically of it today so I can document results of treatment. It really doesn't seem to bother or itch him though and they're not scabby. They just look that way. It's all on his belly and pit areas. When we got him we thought it was just dirty rash from not having been bathed in his life, but it hasn't come off. His bloodwork has been fine and skin scrapings never showed anything, and - oddly - the vet had never mentioned trying a biopsy. But then, he's only ever seen three sphynx and they've all been mine. He did recommend asking someone else with a Sphynx if they'd seen this before which prompted my asking while at the show.

Does this look like what Ki has? Or yours, Pussiette? (I'm going to leave these as thumbnails so people can decide if they want to be horrified.)

Hi, two of my three have skin issues, I'm sure one of them is urticaria, as yet undiagnosed. I manage them both mainly through their diet, as long as it is stable they are ok. I fed them raw for a while but found this blackened their teeth and I didn't like that. They then were on the Hills Z/D diet for a long while. Following recent hives on my 18 month old boy, the dermatologist explained that the gold standard for food sensitivities is Royal Canin’s Analergenic and this had great results for both. We’ve slowly been returning to Z/D and things are beginning to break down again - they are definitely healthier on the Analergenic food, sadly its twice the price!
