My little Mokie has this trouble. She has one huge spot on her eyebrow area that scabbed and oozed. She rubbed at it often so I sprayed some Allerspray on it. She has three smaller spits near her ears but none anywhere else. I'll be calling her vet tomorrow. Could it be an allergic reaction? They are in the areas she rubs against our faces? I feel so helpless in what to do for her. Good luck with your poor kitty!

Glad you are getting this checked out. These are big spots. Be sure to think of everything they rub on etc so you can share with vet. Is excessive sun bathing an issue? Does your baby sit under something electronic that might be generating heat ? Think of everything...the more info you have for vet the better.

Please let us know what your vet had to say.

How are all the kitties with skin issues going today? So far so good here. Kangaroo only trial continuing.

Please post updates.

Glad it's working!
Holiday got me too busy to do an update on Toothy before now. We compared the pictures from the start to 1o days on Zyrtec. There didn't appear to be any change so we don't think it's Urticaria Pigmentosa. (n)

here is what her neck looks like 3 weeks after a steroid shot.
uploadfromtaptalk1385958367004.jpg

She is a tortie but the dark freckle spots are scar tissue from a secondary skin infection that is all healed up know. She doesn't have the greasy Seborrhea anymore and thw smell she had is gone.
I am watching out for foot chewing and head shaking. Those are signs that she is going to start an breakout.

Sorry to hear this issue it looks like hives that my cat has we think its food but also atopy so no chemicals or synthetics or worming or shampoos nothing. How long has this been happening how old is your baby what do you feed your baby etc etc where did you buy your baby from...might be the same genetics?

The vet said she believes it started with an ear infection and then she scratched at her ears breaking skin and spreading infection. She is on antibiotic orally and in ear drops as well as steroids to stop the itching. She said if it is immune related the spots will worsen and then we will change treatment. She didn't see signs of fungus.

Vet visit update:
She got another steroid shot. Wow those work fast. She got it at 3 pm and she is already looking better at 9pm. Vet wants to continue with venison and pea diet trial for another month. Said to lower the dose of her buspar because socially she is doing so well and because she has lost weight. Anti anxiety drugs can make you loose weight so not uncommon but she is only 6.3 pounds so we don't want her to loose any more.
She wants to see I'd giving the food trial another 6 weeks will help. So, I am still playing the waiting game.

She is on royal canin venison and pea diet. Everyone likes it so that is what everyone is eating. I am being super strict. No other treats or food scraps. None!

I use doctor elesy precious cat litter. Or cat attract. It has no scent or additives and she does best on it. I liked using swheat scoop or the corn litter but she avoids it and so I switched. No one seems to mind. I am down to 3 cats so I go through very little litter.

I am so glad that SOMETHING is working for you. It's incredible that you could see a difference in the pred shot - that's amazing. Because that had NO effect on my baby.

It's good that venison and pea diet is working and not making it worse.

Good luck with the food trial it's hard to keep cats on a trial when it's a multi cat household.

I've created another thread for us too to help track our progress. :)

@Inflamed & @ZiggyStardust you both look like you are dealing with problems along the same line. Altho Toothy's is much more extreme. The others look like open pustule type lesions, they look painful. I pray for you all to find something that gives your cats' comfort and relief from these issues.
